Sports Media

This may not apply to other nations, but in the UK especially, the media surrounding sports is diabolical. Aside from the consistent badgering of players who are "under performing" or managers which are not producing results, the coverage is rather biased and sometimes disgraceful.

Is it the same in every nation? Are the media always so intrusive and so rude where you live?

An example of this horrendous media coverage would be the interview with Roberto Mancini(manager of Manchester City football club). Rather than being asked questions about his upcoming fixture, he was asked more about transfers and his own private life. It's totally uncalled for, unrelated and blatantly used as a pressuring system to force him into making a mistake. Considering he's already under enough pressure to equal his previous league campaign and do better in the Champions League, I think this is utterly disgraceful.

We have seen football managers lose their jobs, players fall from the limelight, clubs lose sponsors and players being forced out of the country by the media. Is it right, that the media are allowed to act like this?

I'm not a Manchester City supporter by the way, I just feel sorry for Mancini and what he has to put up with.
