Hello friends and fellow members~

About time I get a journal going. So here we go, here's a picture of the fertilizer's I'm going to be using; feel free to ask any questions. I will be using Home and Garden Coco as my medium to grow in. Using only R/O water, might use tap water when I leech salts out of my medium. I don't have much indoor knowledge, I would consider myself a novice indoor grower, so anyone with experience feel free to chime in. Hopefully my green thumb will pull threw for me heh heh. . .

Put 4 Og Kush x Trainwreck and 1 (Og Kush x Trainwreck) x Purple Bud in water to soak overnight on 1/16. Then, they got put into Rapid Rooters on 1/17, 100% germination. They all came out to tell me Goodmorning today when I went to check them. :D

Thanks for stopping by, feel free to drop some ?'s or some pointers. . . .but please remember this is a grow journal so let's not get too off topic. I will be growing 12/12 fs in 1 gallon containers so this is going to be a perpetual journal, with one of a kind genetics. All seeds that I have made using genetics I've obtained over my life, so stick around and check it out. Updates weekly~
Until then drop a comment, "Let's talk story"

Peace

Hello everybody, the 4 Og Kush x Trainwreck and 1 (Og Kush x Trainwreck) x Purple Bud germinated and sprouted out of the Rapid Rooters in 48 hours. I transplanted them in solo cups today; 75% Coco 25% Perlite. This will be their home for now until transplanted into 1 gallon containers.

Also I figured I'd give them their first fertilizer, just to add a lil "spizzazz". :weed:
1/3 ML Dyna Gro-Grow, and 1 and 1/3 ML GO CalMag mixed into 1 gallong of R/O water PH @ 5.5

Look who decided to join the party today, Super Silver Haze x Cheese :D

Peace

Fed the girls today. 1 gallon of R/O mixed with 1/3 ML Dyna-Gro Grow along with 1 1/3 ML GO CaMag+ pH @ 6Cutting coco with 25% perlite works fine for seedlings but Im thinking going 100% coco next time an up pot is needed. These we're planned on 12/12 fs, but as of now they've been on 18/6 schedule.

I thought coco needed to be fed, because it doesn't have anything in it and its a hydro like medium. Thanks for the heads up ill lay off the nutes. So far they seem fine though, anyone else have an opinion on when/what to start feeding coco?

a friendly tip...they are stretching alot so a little closer with the light...and Clearex is sugar water ...read the ingredients...have fun and

KEEP 'EM GREEN

I have never personally used coco so someone should chime in with more solid advice. but from what I have heard coco requires constant feeding like a hydro medium like you said. but the cannabis seeds have enough nutrition to get itself started.

as I said I don't have experience with coco but I would say feeding should start about when the 2nd set of leaves have formed or once the cotyledons show signs of yellowing as these are the seedlings food reserve

ALSO YOU ARE GOING TO NEED CAL MAG SUPPLEMENTATION IN COCO....important...especially at the beginning until the coco is saturated ...its a ion thing

They're only in the first week so not worried too much about a little stretching, next time they're transplanted that'll get fixed but I noticed some stretching going on also so I placed them 1 inch away from the T5, now their getting more width and less stretch. I have been giving them what I would consider high doses of CaMag+ every feeding. A long with my base nutrient Dyna Gro. Currently using Home and Garden Coco cut with perlite as my medium. it doesn't require getting saturated, it comes pre moistened. I learned calcium binds to coco. So it got moistened a little with CaMag+ pH @ 6 when I transplanted them into solo's from rapid rooters, and if you read in the beginning I said I might just flush with tap water, because I learned from Homebrewer that Clearex is sugar water. Thanks for the tips :D

Ladies got fertilized this morning, 1/3 ML Dyna Gro, and 1 1/3 CaMag+ to 1 gallon of R/O water pH @ 5.5. I have been giving the run off to my roses and they're quite happy now :-)

I run DG as well in soiless minerally amended promix...
You misunderstood me....the cal has to saturate the coco medium so early on you must provide quite a bit of cal-mag and then as the medium's "Cation" and "Anion" bond it can be lowered...And HB is a friend of mine and that dude knows his shit and it a very knowledgeable accomplished and straight shooting grower

Did you misunderstand me? I did saturate it with Calcium and I have been giving them a lot of CaMag+ off the bat.

That's cool, thanks for the advice. Never was insinuating he wasn't a "very knowledgeable accomplished and straight shooting grower"

Well today is marks a week old for these babies, I ended up pulling KK #01 because it was a runt. I replaced it with an organic grown Romulan x Blueberry that will be on a different feed schedule than the Kandy Kush's and Purple Bud. Also, I watered them today with 1 ML of GO CalMa+ mixed in 1 gallon of R/O water pH @ 6

Another SSH x Cheese decided to pop up today, just waiting on some late sprouters.

I'm glad to be getting the ball rolling again, it was a good first week and I apologize about the lame pictures, but they'll be get more exciting soon;-)
Thanks for stopping by!

Peace

-Thanks for stopping by dirtysouthgenetics, nice to see you bro. . .Hope everythings going g.

As for the girls they got some plain R/O today until 30% run off because I saw some rust looking spots forming on the Purple Bud seedling so i'll be keeping an eye on that one. The Kandy Kush's are great. Transplanted 2 Super Silver Haze x Cheese into solo's with my homemade organic medium today, still waiting on the other four to sprout. I want to see the difference in yield between coco and synthetics, and my organic style growing(the way i've been growing my whole life). Incase you guys don't know, I live on an island in the middle of the ocean lmao. I was raised and taught farming by my family so it's pretty difficult for me making the switch but recently I'm having some physical body issues so this is what's easiest on my body(mixing ferts in a gallon jug). These beans weren't soaked in water overnight, just put straight into moist Rapid Rooters. I wanted to see the difference in germ rate between the two methods. I got 100% germination in 48 hours when they were soaked overnight. Although this isn't the fairest test, because beans are from different seedstock it still tells me that soaking them overnight to get their instincts going is much more efficient. I guess I could have went and read that, but I don't mind learning hands on. Actually that's what I'm all about.

Peace

Handy tip. If the run-off EC (PPM) is higher coming out then you're overfeeding, lower then you're under feeding. Increase the difference by 75% and watch the plant :)

BTW, way to start the thread with some kick ass songs!
Heh heh thanks man, I'm usually pretty medicated when I'm on here to be honest so it's nice to have some good music playing while I'm browsing a thread, thanks :-D

Right on, I appreciate the tip. Do you know anywhere online I can get a ppm meter that doesn't cost an arm and leg? I was going to order a cheap one off of ebay but I don't know if it's on a .5 or .7 scale, so I didn't order. I finally bought a pH pen, after all these years. . .:wall:

If not, thanks anyway I'll be taking it easy on the Purple Bud. Every plant is different ;-)
