Spilled Water on Laptop...suggestions?

So I spilled water on my laptop last night. I was kinda stoned and playing video games and I set a water glass near my comp. It was kind of crowded and I accidently tipped it over on the keyboard.

Either way, I turned it off and vacuumed the keyboard, the battery area and then took of some panels and vacuumed inside of them to hopeful rid anything of water damage. I then left it to dry for 24 hours.

So I turned it on tonight and it booted up fine and everything seems to be working besides on thing. The keyboard. Like 90% of the keys work, however, certain keys are completely dead. Is it possible to fix these individual connections (I'm sure they just shorted out when the water was present in the keyboard) or will I have to replace my entire keyboard to fix this problem?

Anyone happen to know?

Also, how will I be able to tell if any other hardware is shorted? or if any other damage (besides the keyboard) occurred.

im not sure how u can tell if certain keys are damaged but i know that my step dad had somethin wrong with his and he was able to take it to a store and they ordered and fitted a new keyboard for him.

so maybe its fixable, maybe not. probably depends on where the water got to.

oh, and i wouldnt try opening it up or anything like that for urself. ofc unles u know what ur doing, otherwise, take it in to a professional store

The connections are fried,do not attempt to replace the keypad unless you know WTF you are doing. My advise is to take it for repair or just get a stand alone keyboard because once those connections are fucked they are truly fucked, been here done this.

i accidentally spilled an alcoholic bev. with high sugar content on my laptop a couple of years ago. anyways, i just turned it upside down while it was open at a 90* angle and let it dry for 24 hours. it started right up. only problem is now my keys are sticky and my scroller doesn't work on the mouse pad. i could get it replaced, but i didnt' pay much for it and i've since built a desktop which is far superior.

anyways, you can get a new keyboard and either put it in yourself, or pay someone else to do it. i would personally pay a professional, just because taking laptops apart without breaking them can be a feat in itself.

If it was just water then it should be fine to replace the keyboard and call it a day, look for a maintence manual for your laptop...

It will show you how to take it apart properly and give you the part numbers too and just buy a new keyboard off ebay.

You guys should see MY keyboard. There are grooves in the ertasiokln keys because of my nails (they're not really long, but I guess they're long enough), it's filthy, and I'm always spilling something on it, though most of the time I don't realize I've spilled til I see how dirty it is. A couple of weeks ago I spilled some cereal on it. What a dumb fuck. Now the x key sticks, but not too bad. If it gets bad I might pull it apart and hit it with a q-tip soaked in rubbing alcohol (dries super fast). Or, for $10 get a new board (this is for my pc). Toasted Fox is right, you should be able to clean up the few stuck keys easily enough. It's not rocket science.
