No need to wash it off.
When you mix it up, it helps it dissolve if you use warm water and a drop of dish soap.

this guy sums up my feeling on sidermites...

Were they really young? I've never tried it on little ones, but when I've used it on bigger plants, they actually seemed to like it (could be my imagination... definitely no bad effects though). When I found them on young, freshly potted clones once, I used the no pest strips - since I wasn't worried about needing ventilation at that point. I put a couple of strips in the room, kept the door shut, and after 1.5 weeks they were totally wiped out.

I guess everyone has their own solution. I have a friend who tried floramite a couple of times, and they came back. I tried a bunch of different things before I came to the conclusion that I wasn't getting the eggs, and that I needed to keep doing regular treatments to catch any hatchlings as they came out.

I konw it doesn't, the things are little bitches! No doubt! I hat them!

Seriously dude, you just did yourself a HUGE favor getting the hot shot no pest strip. Just remember, Spider Mites reproduce every 3 days(ish) So keep the ventalation off or down to a minimum (off being the best) for about 6 days (to kill the ones that hatch aswell) and you should be rid of the bastards!

azatrol works pretty good, but you'll never get them all w/ spraying... fill a 5 ga bucket & intvert & dip them so everything gets covered. do it again in 3-5 days after the eggs hatch, but before they reproduce.

high humidity is very effective at killing them too, but prbly risks other probs... if the grow room is small, a regular home humidifier in there for a few hours might just do the trick. then put fans on and dry them out... repeat 2-3 days.

ok i did the organocide again (3rd time) but i mixed it a little stronger (16 oz spray bottle i used 4 tsp organocide and 4 tsp of 70% alcohol) and put down the hot shot pest strip..that was 2 days ago i looked today and i could not find 1 mite moving, i flicked the webs and everything and there is no movement so i think i got them i spayed them again today and i'll leave the pest strip with them and hope thats the last i see of them, but if not my floramite will be here soon..but if there gone it was two products you can get at home depot for under $20

I have never had a spider mite problem however here is a rumor I heard.

Rumor:

You can release a toxic amount of CO2 (11,000PPM) into your grow room for a short time (20 mins) and it will kill anything that is non plant life.

As always don't just run off and try some idea some pothead told you - do your research before you try anything like this.

Even When you think they're gone, they're not.
If you can't see them spray at least two more times and completely clean your grow area.
Not at all trying to undermind you or anything..... But that really is not nessisary. The spray in the first place was not nessisary, the hot shot no pest strip WILL do the job. Leave it in there with the fans off for another 3-4 days and your good. I swear by it!

Hello All, I've been reading here for a minute but now I'm registered and I'll try and chime in here and there with stuff from my own experience...I'm in my 1st grow, dwc or bubbleponics in a 2x4x5ft tent 4 flower and 20x30x33"(about...I think) cabinet...2 purple passion and 1 bubbleberry in day 9 of flower....1 bubbleberry and 1 skunk1 in veg...all looked great, and I think it's been in the past week that it happened. I started seeing the specs, anywho...I'm here now...I have 1 PP with 2 airstones that has just been a haas...looked great until this...it's got them the worst...the other PP is kind of tall and skinny since it's gettin over root root but has very little mites and the BB has a few fan leaves with the little bastards...veg cab is pretty much skunk feelin' the effets with the BB bein pretty resistant except a few leaves...I sprayed with einstein oil and added ladybugs today...hopefully this ends ok for them...I'm having mixed feelings about it after reading more...I'll keep you guys posted...I also ordered some predatory mites that should be here Wed at the latest if I need them...Temp is usually 82-86 during day and down to 68 (maybe) at night...humidity is usually between 42-70%...I had recently been tryin to get it down to stay in 40-50 range...(fingers crossed)

Hot shot no pest strips worked like a charm for me ! Be careful though these are very toxic dont keep around kids or pets just handling them for a min or two make my stomach hurt. Use for a week and seal it up good and put away for the next time.
