This is the first time Ive noticed spider mites on my buds. I noticed as I was harvesting my first plant. Is there any way to remove them from the bud once I have cut the plant down? Should I even smoke bud that is covered in spider mites?
Not that I've ever done it, but would it make sense to put 'em in the nuker for some 5-10 second blasts. If you waited 15-20 minutes between each run it should leave the bud in somewhat of a normal state.
i posted this in another thread before, but i lost it so here. its a ghetto-tech contraption i came up with for cleaning dust off of motherboards and a friend of mine used it for spider mites. works good too, just be careful.
take a vacuum with a hose. gut a ball point pen. use duct tape to fasten the hollow pen tube to the front of the hose, using extra tape to make it so air only comes in through the tiny hollow tube. use it to carefully suck all the mites off your plant. works on webs too. spray with heavy concentrate garlic+cyanne pepper water.. and voila.
it may not be too late. if you have any hydroponic stores near you you should go there and look for a broduct called fox farm's dont bug me. you can spray your plants with it until the day of harvest but is not reccomended. or look for something called Einstein Oil/Neem Oil. they should do the trick and kiill the spidermites
don't bug me. that's it. it works just have to apply multiple times. works though. i "clean" all my new mother clones with it first thing. couple applications over a week and those BUGS-BE-GONE. vacuum though- Mc Gyver. ingenious.
Drop $100 or so and buy some ice/bubble hash bags bud. You can still make some primo hash and the mites won't make it through the silkscreen! Sorry to hear about your situation. Spider Mites are my arch nemesis! I genuinely hate them.
