Neem oil, available at most hydro & gardening shops. Follow the instructions. Once those little bastards get settled its a bitch to get rid of them.

Pretty much impossible to get rid of especially in flower. Dont spray any pesticides on flowering plants PLEASE. I would get rid of whatever you have in the room, tear it down CLEAN well and everywhere with a bleach solution. Then start from square 1. It's much easier then dealing with a mite infestation repeatedly.

A clean room is the only way to prevent spider mites. Around here, pretty much impossible.

The little demons will ride in on you, your dog, or that bag of potting soil.

For now, pull each plant out, and with the aid of a magnifier, find them and kill them. In this situation, I wipe off the webs and mites by hand, daily, until harvest.

If you have the cash, start using beneficial insects in your room. Most are very tiny, and unlikely to freak your girlfriend, but they really do the trick in enclosed spaces.

This outfit carries an excellent selection of predators.

I've had excellent results in my greenhouses, using these critters.

Regular ladybugs are cheap and effective, but tend to wander away, fairly quickly.

If you have at least three weeks until harvest, I'd consider getting the Ladybugs, after you've removed all you can, by hand.

Sorry for the bad image. Can't figure out how to delete it...

jam,

As long as you're not with in 2 weeks of harvest I'd consider using some Malathion on them. I just used some at a dosage of 10ml/gallon to treat for thrips and it wiped the little buggers right out. Check Home Depot for it and read the label.

All I can say is, give your girls a thorough bath a day or so after applying any chemical.

Be a little paranoid.

You'll live a little longer.

jam,

I don't know how many plants you've got but if it's only 5 or 6 a quart of this mix is probably plenty for one good application.

My well water is horrible so I don't use it on my girls. I've been using melted snow here lately but you could always get a gallon of distilled water at the grocery store to mix yours with.

After mixing mine up in a 1 gallon plastic milk jug I poured it into an old windex spray bottle I had and used that to spritz it on to the plants. I set the plants one at a time into the bath tub and applied it there. I tilted the pot some to help me get it up underneath the leaves. I also made sure to give the soil surface a good spritzing. Also while you have the plants out of the grow space give it a good once over with the spray bottle.

Personally I wouldn't give the plants a bath in 2 days to try and wash it off. I'd wait to make dam sure I'd gotten them all first. It could take a second application a couple of days later to catch any stragglers or new hatches. I'm not sure if it's effective against any eggs they may have laid and you might have to reapply to get them after they hatch. From some of my research into using Malathion for this I learned that there are some Malathion resistant bug species out there.

The main reason I wouldn't wash it off in 2 days is because you want to keep any residual effect it has for as long as possible. Besides Malathion breaks down fairly rapidly (and loses it's Central Nervous System toxicity) just from UV light in a couple of days.

Please keep me posted on how this works for you.

Jack out.
