Verizon FioS just came to my area and I had it installed the first day.
$25 cheaper than my old ISP. 10x faster down speed, 50x faster up speed.
So, Fuck you Time Warner!

Wow, very impressive! I need to check into that. I was at the end of a very long DLS loop, and got only 3Mbit. But, was charged for 6. Bummer. Straightened that out and switch to U-verse which has fiber optic to within 1/4 mile.

Now I get a solid 12. Must get to 30. :)

Fios is not in my area, or I would have that.
Cannot complain though. Still have fiber, just not quite as fast.

and Time Warner is just fucking terrible

The worst part about Time Warner, besides their terrible service, bad customer support & ridiculously high prices is that they have a stranglehold on the market. Up until FioS became available my only other choices were earthlink or roadrunner, both of which rent lines from Time Warner. It's the same service, same price, different name on the bill.

I took great joy in cancelling my Time Warner service. I even made them come to my house to pickup their crappy cable boxes.

The fuckers wanted the remote controls to boot! I bought every remote control in my house for $15 each. I told them if they want the remotes they're gonna have to pay me for them. They didnt want them that bad. :finger:

You're right I didnt state any numbers. I was really just venting about time warner and wasn't thinking of numbers. Time warner charged $49.99 for whatever they're calling their service, I had upload speeds of 60Kbs! Woohoo! What a joke. But anyway...

With all the promotions thrown in and the 2 year contract, yada, yada, yada, I'm paying something like $24.99 a month. I'm sure each price is whatever weird shit it works out to be after taxes and shit but those are the numbers.

Included in my service but of no charge to me is:
Wireless Router @ $139.99 Fee Waived
FiOS Internet Installation Charge @ $79.99 Fee Waived
FiOS Internet Activation Fee @ $29.99 Fee Waived

Discounts applied every month for 24 months:
$10 24 Mo. Bundle Credit Included
$5 24-Month Contract Discount Included

Yeah that sounds right... I think. Whatever, I'm baked.

I don't know... maybe things really are a bit slower in the south. No speed problems here though. I can bump this 50 MB/s line to 100 MB/s with one phone call. Comcast rocks here!
I did take the liberty of blanking out my server and time/date stamp on this though. NO way I'm posting that up!

I haven't heard of a cable line having a cap but the 4g network is for sure getting it.and it is going to go by what you use, just another way of screwing the people over. I think the cap is around 1 gb a month, hell i burn that up in 15 minutes sitting here at the home pc.

I'm out in the boons at the end of a wireless connection (dish pointed at an antenna on a hill about 3 miles away).

1.48 down
.50 up

It doesn't say I'm faster than xxx. Mine says "slower than 80% of US". Like Bunco - Do I win for the most lost????

This is as fast as I can get for $49/mo.
