Nope, not too late at all.

I live in the SE as well and have separate vegetative and flowering chambers indoors. I'll veg for about 4 weeks then put into the flowering chamber until they show sex then put outdoors. I end up putting plants outdoors about 3 or 4 times throughout the spring and summer months this way. By kicking them into flowering before I put them out, I get several outdoor harvests per year. If I've got some really good genetics, I'll usually flower those all the way through indoors.
