Has anyone used the Sonoff touch wall switches? I have a bunch of other Sonoff devices, but would like to have smart switches that could be operated like the other Sonoff devices. From the look of their touch switches, they just aren't "right" to fit into regular wall boxes. Most of the light switches I have in my house are rows of 3 or 4 and their 3-gang switch fits into a single gang box. Any suggestions for other inexpensive smart wall switches?

Does the sonoff control rely purely off App settings? Example, if your phone is off will the sonoff still know to turn the lights off at X time? Does it get programmed into the sonoff device or rely on app to send its signals? This could be a problem for me, but otherwise I'm interested in trying the 4channel they offer to run my main lights and far reds for end of day.

Yeah, they still work with the same setting also without internet connection. You only need app and internet to make changes.
But the new BasicR3 has a so called hobby mode and can create an aceess point/hotspot the smartphone can be connected to without internet and they can stay in this mode. This way you don't need internet/server connection to make changes. I really hope they'll add this feature to the other models as well. Would be really nice to have them all running locally.

How about other devices? like B1, pow r2, T1 US, etc?
SONOFF says BASICR3, RFR3 and Mini support Hobby Mode.
Seems similar to LAN mode which needs an isolated router to connect to, is that correct?
Is Hobby Mode a mesh network, or just creates a hotspot server on the Sonoff device?

I believe its just a hotspot but that's just a guess. No clue how they have realized it. Need to order 2 of them myself soon for my new lights I'm currently working on.

Hobby Mode is foremost for integrating the unit in a home automation system like home assistant, Node-Red et al. Before that you could flash the old Sonoffs to a degree but it was not that easy. But afaik you can use it standalone to avoid having to use the Ewelink app. Haven't ordered one yet, so can't say for sure.

Yeah! That makes it a lot easier!
They have blocked Tasmota flashing anyway since a while on the latest firmwares and have received no praise for it. But the community want's the compatibility to home assistent and other assitance systems.
You can probably also use the ewelink app but you wouldn't neccessarily need internet connection to connect and to set up the timings.

Didn't know latest firmware blocked Tasmota flashing unfortunately. Guess I don't need the interface cable now.
I'm thinking of using an old cellphone (temporarily) as a hotspot & getting a router that can run 2 separate networks, running LAN mode.
I really distrust this remote server nonsense that Sonoff and others use. I'm sure the EweLink app leaks info back to Sonoff, but it's the devices I want to keep off my home network

Sonoff Mini.

I saw the small form factor and the fact that it can be placed easily inside a junction box with ability for easy connection of an external switch the real winnerz here.

Love that itead are finally encouraging flashing/diy mode in more of their productz aswell.

Speaking of which.. Im hitting a blank wall at the moment with displaying my temp/humidity values on 'Lovelace' with the TH16.. May post up my 'progress' to see if anyone can help..

So flashed using the latest version of Tasmota (6.6) and put both Bin. and Sensor.Bin on. (separate times)
Can get the values to show in Tasmota frontend but not on Lovelace. And its not connecting (see console) just dont know where itz broken.
