somewhat stealth box. 2nd time grow.

Alright so i just started my 2nd grow. I built my box within a day. put lights in. and I'm on day 5 of grow. plants just poked through the top of the soil. I've got 3 purple kush seeds from cali that a buddy gave me when i was out there. i was told the plants the seeds came from were grown outside and they ended up getting pollinated by someone else plant nearby so its some sort of purp kush crossbred.

so the box is 19"w x 29"L x 19"t. and i have 3 28inch long florescent lights, and two spiral 20w 1200lumens bulbs and two 12v computer fans for ventilation.

any questions or comments or thoughts would be much apreciated.. except this is a no budget project and built it all with everything i have around the house...

hey man, nice set up there. can ya tell me how to go about hooking up the computer fans? i had a growbox, only w/o the vent/fans and i think it would have turned out better if i wouldve vented the box. well now i've got a couple of old pc's and was wanting to try this method, as i've heard other people on here refer to using a pc fan to vent w/. anyway thanks in advanxe for the info.

well i used a 12v adapter that had the four way prong for multiple use but cut the head off with the four way. so i had the two wires.
then i took the fans, cut the plugs off of them extended the cords with longer wires, etc. so i you have the positive(red) and negative (black) and you pretty much just gotta touch the red and the black to the two seperate charger wires to figure out which one is pos and neg. thats prolly the best i can explain it. ive been dabling with electronics and such over the years creating stupid stuff so it kinda just came to me on how to put it all together. plus reading these forums all the time.

i included a pic on one of the plants on day five and the heads poked through the dirt early this morning!

Anyone have any input or sugestions?

do you plan on using this as a veg chamber or for the full growth cycle? you have 19' of height which doesnt allow for much plant growth between the top to bottem, not to mention space used by the lights and the pots, the most you could hope for off this setup is like a quarter oz per plant

If you don't have fans and are buying them, the best ones are from radio shack and they even sell a model that doesn't require an adapter because it runs on 110....they move a little more air too...they're an all metal black fan, about 20 dollars.

The cabinet shown up here isn't big enough to grow in from start to finish. You need about 4 feet in height to really grow.

i was planning on standing the box on the end once the plants get too tall or creating another box. ill prolly give one of the plants to a friend so ill have some room for two plants when they get bigger. and since it is my second grow ill take whatever i can get for harvest since my first grow was just an experiment to see if i could even get the plants to grow till i killed them off. so idk we'll see how things go as they grow.

ive got two twelve volt fans that move the air quite well. maybe ill look into a bigger grow space tomorrow when i have some time.

ok so this new box idea is this black and decker tool cabinet on wheels.
its inside dimensions are 27.5 inches tall x 25" wide x 16" deep.
the only problem with this box is finding a place to put it that is stealthy...
plus i already spent a day rigging up my other box with all the lights and fans and running the wires neatly. i guess i could do it all over again.
would it be worth it or should i just stick with what i have?

27.5 inches is kinda small for height...

the three of them are growing pretty damn fast. hopefully i can get a timer so i can switch them over to 18/6

just got a timer last night but i dont know how to work it yet. and topped two of the 3 plants. there growing fast

i love seeing the growth after topping or fimming, the 2 plants i fimmed last week are doing very well and had great growth over the week, and i topped a smaller plant earlier today so im waiting on the new growth from that.. cant wait

Yeah you need to lst, tip, and fim those plants hardcore. Or you could just do a bunch of shot glass grow-off's. that's what im doing, because I like to experiment and it's easy, And they stay nice and small so nobody will notice them in a little box behind all clothes in your closet or something. I do that with a little grow box one day I got bored and went to home depot and make a mini hydro system that grew in little cups like size of shot glasses and i yield at least 1/2 ounce from each one. It's not much, but I don't really care I like to do it I have my other grow room anyway. lol, I used uncle bens topping method for one of my shot glasses and i got 4 main colas. It was pretty freaken awesome I yielded a ounce, try it=]]

yo you should pm me tips on how to make a cheap hydro setup like that, i might wanna try it in the near future
