Here's a bit of my art.
The woodpecker was carved and painted by hubby.
is the 2nd one woodburning?? I always thought woodburning was interesting. I mostly do stained glass/blown glass and painting. sometimes other random arts and crafts projects as i feel inspired. although recently not much coming out of this factory. I have a complete stained glass shop in my garage but its freezing cold in the winter so until recently i preffered not to be in there at all.

i wish i had enough space to set up a complete blown glass setup. :(

the german shepherd is awesome. I have a dutch shepherd (basically the same thing except completely brindle instead of brown and black). he's old though. bad hips.

random rambling.

Yes mame. It is indeed woodburning. I love wood and even the smell of doing this art is nice.

I have done a lot of pictures on wood. I like the idea of not having to frame it. ;) I have so many pictures that I have done and never gotten them framed. The pictures that I paint and give away I either frame myslf or have them framed.

I can remember painting some woodducks for a friend of mine that I have known since I was about 5 years old. She had this thing for ducks and just loved them so I took a long time to apint and custom frame this myself (which was an art in itself :|)

Well years later when she moves closer to me I go to visit her and I see the frame that I had so carefully taken time to make BUT my picture is gone. There is a photograph there replacing it. Instead of going out to purchase a frame for a photograph, this 'friend' decided to chuck the watercolour painting I had done especially for HER to put the photo in.

WOW! That really hurt. Big time.

Stained glass is wonderful. I have a couple of friends that do it. One of them I am going to visit this summer.
And glass blowing....isn't that awesome. Jimmyspaz and some others were just discussing that the other day. That is a talent in itself. Very interesting.

Thanks for stopping by gurl. Always nice to see you. ;)

I would have been devastated by that. Thats something I dont think that I could be so forgiving of, I would forgive them Id say but Id never get over that one. I know how much wwork is put into art and it sucks to see that unappreciated by the person its made for.
sorry you had to deal with that chicka.

It was VERY hurtful. I grew up with this girl. Had dinners at her house 2 to 3 times out of the week. Stayed friends with her fora very very long time but that really hurt. Thanks email. You really do have a sensitive side to you. Its sweet and thank you. :)

I will forgive anyone for anything. I have HAD to fprgive some horrific things BUT some kind of hurts you just don't expect and this was one of them. I am over it now. I only paint and give art to family now cause if anyone in the family did that ,....you have them ALL after you. :hump: Hahaha! The joys of families.

really? that would be soo cool!
Roughly how much would it cost to start getting into it as a hobby type thing?

I will forgive anyone for anything

ive been that way for some time now myself after seeing people not appreciate things Ive done for them. I actually refuse to tattoo some of my family though for trying to take advantage of me having those ability's. I thought they would be the least likely ones to do that but I guess I found out why they say 'not to buy vehicles from family member' too the hard way.

wow I would have been pissed if my friend did that. did you ask why she did that or where it was? thats messed up. Ive kept every piece of art anyone has ever drawn me. even down to doodles drawn at bars/24 hr food joints by my friends. I think they are awesome. I wish i had the money to frame them all and hang them around my room. I think someday I'll go "junkin and find some good frames, but ya know i never remember when i go. lol.

I am VERY sensitive also but I have a tendency to put myself out there. I also get bruised easily I suppose.
I am very sensitive which is why i tend to distance myself. Once i let the wall down, i am easily bruised.
I did ask her about it and she pretended she didn't know what I was talking about. Like I had made a mistake and gotten the frames mixed up. When you make a frame, you remember everything about it.

I also keeo things my friend give me ESPECIALLY if they are created by them for me. Thats a VERY special thing and not something to be thrown back in one's face. Yes it was very disheartening to say the least. :|

I don't consider myself an artist. Just love to dabble in the arts.
looks good....didnt kno you were a artist...
ii wish ii knew how to link i could show you some o mine...
I'd love to see some stuff.
I can tell you how, if you like.
Ahh...Seamaiden is always so nice.:peace:

I usually keep my art and my music to myself. Its something special and personal to me. I don't even play or sing much in front of people but am occassionally asked to and I'm not one for being put on the spot so I most likely decline. :-?:blsmoke:

I made this for my mother several years ago.

It says:

Don't sweat the small stuff

I need that tattoed on my forehead.:?

the rest of the saying is:

Its ALL small stuff.

Which most of it is.:-?

This was done on a natural piece of wood of our property, was wood burned and then pastel crayons were used for colour.

This is some needlepoint that took me years to do. It is actually a very large needlepoint and is ALL stitching. There are no added background colours. Its all done with different stiyches like french knots, split stitch, hoops stitches etc, and I gave it to my mom as a gift. :blsmoke::peace:

This is a set of watercolouring I did a LONG time ago.
I'm not that impressed wiht them any more as I can see how rigid I was as this was all so new to me.

But still I painted them and gave them to my parents as a gift.

the needlepoint is very impressive (as is the rest of your work). even the early watercolors show great promise and they have excellent lines and composition! the brushwork lacks the confidence of your later work but that is to be expected - very nice indeed... well done! :joint:

Hey lacy those all look pretty good girl. Good job with them! Im sure your parents were happy with those:) and Ill bet that you wont ever go to their house and find that they took a frame off one of your works for something else.
Have you ever tried using acrylic paints?
