Some noob questions about PC grows

Alrighty, as title says I have a few nooby questions about PC grows. They've caught my interest with ease, and since I got some news the previous night that I'll be moving due to not being able to afford rent. (having to stay with parents as I finish college .-. ) Well, PC grow seems like the stealthiest way for me to do it, now here comes the questions. Does it matter what kind of strain I use in a PC grow or will the plants like stay small and adapt to the given environment? Or would I need a special strain of sorts, if so what are said strains? Other than that, just please give me as much as you know on the subject of PC grows. I'll continue reading up on them of course. Or even if you have suggestions on different places other than the PC (No closet grows) please do share with me :3 Anyways, thanks for your time to those of you who read through this.

I'd be glad to help! There are strains that grow specifically short and compact (lowryder and lowryder hybrids) but growing in a pc is gonna pretty much require 12/12 from seed no matter what strain you use. The only environment space wise that plants have to adapt their size to is roots and pot space. If you look at my thread, the one flowering now is just bag seed. I do something called LST (low stress training) to bend my plants stalk down to less than 1/2 the height it would normally be, this saves MUCHO room, and is extremely easy to do. You can grow any strain you'd like, but unless you're 12/12ing it you will probably run out of room. I'm assumin you know what I mean by 12/12 from seed right? Another method of space saving is called scroging, there are lots of good tutorials on it but I don't do it mainly because I haven't figured out how to attach a screen/trelis to my box. You can get very good yeild from a pc if you do it right, sometimes up to an oz or more, but it takes practice and the use of special nuteients (foxfarms line of superblooms and buds, SUPERthrive, etc) If you have any more questions feels free to ask! Good luck bruh and be careful. I remember when I got caught tryna grow in the closet when I lived at home haha

Okay, sounds excellent. I've done some more reading in the mean-time ever since I had posted the thread and found out about how to dwarf the plants; Another thread from quite a while back had suggested that I wait until the plant is about 6" before I switch it to 12/12 so I'm thinking I'll go with that. Unless there's a better technique you know of? I've got the PC box set up with a total of five fans (from my old gaming PC) so I figure this will offer more than adequate ventilation. (2 x 120mm fans and 3 x 80mm fans) LST I've heard of, but I have no idea how to do it, I'll search for a thread with a tutorial on it as well as the scrogging. Thanks much for the sound advice my friend :3

You won't have room if you veg till 6", LST is easy, after you top them, let the tops grow out, then using twist ties (look at my thread!!!) gradually pull the stalks an branches down, they will naturally adjust to this shape after a while. It's pretty straight forward just be careful not to bend or snap your stem. Seriously check mine out I have it LSTed nicely so far. Idk how you managed 5 fans but yeah that'll be plenty, unless they are double stacked you might have a light leak issue though. I'd double stack them if I were you, it magnifies airflow and saves room

what does "12/12 from seed" mean exactly? I know that's the lights duty cycle, but I'm under the impression that autos want 16/8 or more light, but no less that this (?)

Autos do t have a specific light requirement they usually flower after about 6-8 weeks. Normal plants will grow in veg when the lights are on for more than around 18 hours and 6 of dark, once you switch them to 12/12 they will begin the flowering and sexing process....if you're growing from bag seed, you will not know the sex until 2-3 weeks after switching to 12/12....you're plant will a least double in size during flowering, which is why you want to 12/12 immediately if growing in a PC. This is all replicating the suns cycle, from early days in the year where there is more light In a day, to the latter "harvest" months (aug, sept) which have less light.

12/12ing from seed is having the lights on exactly half of the day (12+12=24) ;)
