some advice or feedback

So i'm in the process of gathering all the material that I need to start growing. I've been looking throughout the site for some thread containing anything on the tent I bought from amazon, but to no avail. Now im just wondering if I made a good purchase. Especially with the lights I bought and fan.

I bought an Aviditi 2 (deep) x 4 (long) x 5 (high).

I bought an Ipower 600w ballast and its air cooled hood. It can go between mh and hps.

Lastly, I got an inline fan also, it does 430 cfm also, (I don't know if that's good or not but it looks pretty high to me). With carbon filter.

Is this a good jumping off point or what. I've been looking for threads containing anything with this setup or tent and items. And the one I did kinda shocked me about my lights. Feedback, advice or criticism welcomed.

Well your set up a lot better than I was when I started. I was getting ready to buy ipower myself, read pretty good reviews on them. What did you read on them?

I've got the exact same setup on my current indoor grow and I'm on day 35 flower, except I have a 400w, not 600.

I'll snap some more recent pics tonight after lights on as to how my tent is currently set up and I'll post back after that.

It was a post on here concerning the same kind of kit that I bought for the lights. The light itself is decent after finding more reviews on here but the kit was being scrutinized.

[h=1]Aviditi PTU-67 Mylar Reflective Hydroponic Grow Tent, 48-Inch Wide by 24-Inch Deep by 60-Inch High[/h]tent that I have

thats the light kit. I dont know why its so big?

What do you mean by "big"? The hood is probably the biggest thing in there, could be 24"-32"+. The reason for a big reflector is to help reflect much of what would otherwise be lost from your lamp, and spread it out over a wider area.

I've seen many negative reports for iPower on this site and other similar ones. Mostly ballast goes out. Now this doesn't mean there is a high percentage, just seems to be more than others. Or it could be a reflection of how much of the market they have because many try to start off as cheaply as possible and they fit a niche for this.

I was referring to the copy paste text just above said statement. Yeah I wasn't too clear on that my fault.

Xoshi,
Sounds like you got all the main parts for your grow ordered. Has everything come in yet? 600w is a lot for that sized tent, but your fan is quite large and I think you will do more than ok. Remember a large hood not only disperses light, but heat as well. Once you get it set up, run it for a day or two. If things aren't too hot, cuttings are available and you are ready to go. Everything looks great. You went from a funny looking set up, to a real grow area in weeks. I am confident that this is going to be a successful first grow. :)

Have you decided if you are going soil or hydro for the time being?

Soil will be a cheaper option for now....probably a good choice for a first time grower. The SSH clones all have good root growth right now. Are you still wanting a few of them, or are you going to order seeds?
