Solution raising into net pots during drip feeding - RDWC

Is it a problem that my nute level goes about 2 inches into the net pots during feeding?

I am running a 15min. on 15min. off schedule. during the off period the level drops rapidly out of the net pots and stays so for 15 min. Is this enough time, or should I increase the off period?

I don't know if it is related but my roots have about one light brown section per plant.

I don't drip when they are that old, I just have the res level about 1/2 to 1" below net pot. Roots are in water so I don't think they need drip or water in pots they get enough moisture from mist/bubbles.

i dont think they need it either. but the roots arent hanging in it yet on a couple week plants.

should i cease running the feed pump?

even if they dont "need' it is it bad if it happens. can it lead to any problems?

Thanks Tony

Honestly I didn't drip mine at all, and they found the water. I would occasionally drip some with a dropper up top but not al the time. I guess just watch them and see if they are ok without it. It looks like they are getting enough feeds to grow on side net pot and not seeking down, can you turn down the amount it drips so it doesn't affect the height yet still give em some water.

i was having troubles with the the solution running in channels in the hydroton, thus having roots only grow in these channels. i messed my my drippers and now they disperse evenly. once i did roots popped out the otherside of the netpots by the next morning.

Im running a RDWC. i have to turn the feedlines on to circualte PH up/down.

so i guess im looking for someone to say "dont let water into your net pots or your plants will spontaneously combust." Or, someone to say "Na man, it's cool if that happens"

this is how I do it,I start my seeds in small rockwool cubes,as soon as I see roots comeing out the bottom I put them in the net pots with my grow medium,(I use small pea gravel)then I put them in my bucket with the water 1/4 inch from the bottom of the net pot,and I only hand water until I see roots starting to come out of the pot, after the roots show I stop the hand watering, once the roots show there is no need to water from the top the roots will take over now.also I made my own rdwc and my pump stays on 24/7.I dont know what type of system you have but if its raiseing the water level in your buckets then I would have to say that something is wrong, your water level should stay the same, your water should flow to the buckets without raiseing the level, good luck
