Solo Cup Christmas Tree: Who's In?

I can't believe it - I've started 5 beans for this SoloCup grow in a paper towel, and upon sprout dug them under the earth and put them in plasticbottles. One didn't break the earth so I threw the cup outside onto the composter with the intention to take out the earth later - but I forgot about it, for about 2 weeks.

Now I got back to it, and as I was unfolding the earth there was this sprout having developed the intital leaves under the earth. Never seen something like that. It's been consistently cool with about -5°C to -10°C outside during the night, during the around 0°C.

Placed this seedling in a cup and took it indoor - after 2 days under HPS it does grow! simply MINDBLOWING! How possibly could this plant survive in that cold? Plants are tough :D

However, its an automatic strain - the ruderalis genes come from plants that grow in north Asia/Russia. Maybe they can tolerate cold better...

So I'm now left with an auto that lost ~~2 weeks of vegging... I suspect it won't grow large at all. Let's wait and see :D

They're from northern russia, so they consider -10C to be warm. I tortured my first auto run and they flowered when they were 6" tall. One of them was just a bud on a stick and the other ones had just started to make side branches. They were so small they weren't even worth keeping because they were only going to yield a few grams. I decided to keep them alive anyway because I had the space and they put out a ton of new veg growth around week 7-8 coming from the lower nodes while the upper nodes continued to flower. Now they're on the small side for autos but definitely way bigger than I ever expected they would be.

Too bad she isn't a photo...something like that might be worth breeding into something. Cannabis sure can take a beating before actual death.

I don't know! First time doing autos myself. The malana bomb auto I'm growing for this solo cup grow, is bigger than that one already. Maybe she's a runt or just stalling and taking her sweet time. Here is a side by side 13 days vs 1 month both autos.
