Soldering iron smoking

This winter I had a nasty lung infection, and had to put down the lighter. I could only use my volcano which is great, but I find it misses the target. I was in my workshop and found an old soldering gun (the kind that glows red hot) and started using that to cook flowers in my bong. The flavors were incredible, and the slower burn got me more medicated, plus my lungs could handle the toke.

I'm pretty sure this is a bad idea, but I am wondering why?

You're just "hot knifing" it, though I would be concerned about solder residue on tip (lead, flux, poison). I believe the solder combines with the tip to some degree, but I'm just thinking out loud. I would just use 2 old knives, and not from your family's silverware set :)

i used to use those, i had a herb iron and a hakko dash. you just have to remove the metal part of it and use the ceramic heating element.
