Soil to DWc

HAs anyone successfully moved from soil to DWC? Im thinking its possible it you take the plant out of the pot, and gently wash off most if not all the soil from the roots. Then slowly layer it in some hydroton?? I dont know. Im gonna make a cheap DWC and see if it works. Any opinions/helps please.

Say Beans, you have the right plan already.
Do just like you said and you'll be fine.
Put as much of the roots and stem down into the pot as you can, then gently surround with hydroton.
Also, do be gentle when rinsing the roots off. If you have a sprayer, that would be even better. Just not too forceful, whatever you use.

I would dip the roots, after you wash them, in some kind of H2O2 solution to kill the organic shit left on the roots. I've heard of people doing this and getting terrible root rot.

I've heard about the root rot thing... what do you think would be an easier transition from soil?

I've transplanted from soil to DWC a few times. Never had a problem. Just use a little H202 and you'll be fine.

Thanks. I had a feeling it really wasn't that complicated. Did you do it the way I was gonna try, or do you have a different way?

Just finish what you have in soil and start your next grow or clones in the dwc.
Good point.

Instead of DWC? Maybe hempy buckets?
Never heard of it.

Hempy buckets are just like soil grows but instead of putting dirt in the pots you use an inert mix of things like perlite. Just google search hempy bucket system for info. I agree with wyteberry though you should just finish up your grow in soil and that will give you more time to do some research.

Nope, just the way you described. Its a PITA though and you will lose some roots not matter how careful you are. I wouldn't try this with large or flowering pants...not that it couldn't be done... its just that much harder to deal with the root mass. Experiment with a rooted clone first and you'll see what I mean.
