So i have fox farm grow big, tiger bloom, and big bloom liquid nutrients to use during my grow.

Since i'm going to be adding nutrients to the soil, shouldn't i be getting a soil with no nutes in it?

So im trying to figure out what to use as the best growing medium for my plants. They are going to be under a 400 HPS.

I use the same nute as you do, and I use Black Gold Organic Potting mix. It has almost no nutes in it N-P-K = 0.05-0.0-0.0 Its just what you want!

If your soil has nutes you just use less of your nutes. Most over nute what ever the case. I like the black gold line. I use the coco blend.

Depends what's in the soil........most soils have a lot of natural things already---some have chemicals.... If your useing FFOF soil then you dont want to add anything until the plants show signs of needing nutes. BigBloom is thier best product, imo, and you can use that thoughout the whole grow and it's organic. Shy away from the pre-nuted(MG, etc) if you aren't sure what your doing, though others will say it's good....... The growbig and tigerbloom are good, but be careful as they are hotter than hell(chems) and wait until your plants need it.
Just get a good all around organic soil and go from there.
The best growing medium for your plants....? Everybody will have thier own opinions of that, haha! Cause for me it's been hydroton in an aeroflo and flood tables.....
I did grow for years and all I used was FFOFmixed with HappyFrog and thier whole line of nutes: They were the best!!

Great luck and I am sure you'll get lots of replies on this-so hang on and see what they say....

get big bricks of promix for $35 at any LOCAL garden shop. the big chain stores dont carry it. well around me.
screw fox farm. i hated that stuff... no disrespect though lol. PE@ce..

also pro mix doesnt have any nutes in it so you can control there feeding. it does have alot of micro organisms in it. real rich soil.

i like black golds coc blend with added perlite cuz it retains moisture. it is the cheapest soil for its qaulity and has no nutes. and is organic

let me give you another option - simply add 1cup biotone($10 bag at lowes) to your nuteless soil (I like ProMix) and you will save tones on the first 1-3 months of growth and the plant will get loads of benificial nutes fungi and bacteria from the biotone. no extra adding or what have you. just water and let it tell you when it needs more nutes (likely not till flowering when you would need it)

i use the same nutes as you do, and i use a mix of supersoil, perlite, peat moss, and worm castings...it's been working fine with my babies, i just give them 1/3 of the recommended dose of tiger...

good luck man!

Light Warrior is a good starting soil or has been for me. I put about 20% of it in my bigger pots also.
