Soil Prep

Hey all, got my seedlings started preparing for this outdoor season. I plan on putting them in 400 gallons and wanted to try somethin new with soil or I guess soiless. I want to experiment with coco but need some advice - thinking like 33% coco 33% perlite and 33% high grade compost/worm castings. Then a bunch of amendments I usually add to soil I'll add to that mix. What do you think my friend? Any input is always appreciated :)

I’m getting my girls ready for outdoors

I’m working on a super soil as well

Blood meal
Earthworm
Kelp meal
Bat .seabird . / guano
Neem seed meal
Fish meal
Dolomite lime
Insect frass
Crab meal
Volcanic ash
Oyster shells
Vegetative guano

I also save my egg shells ...I bake them for a bit then grind them up and mix with Epson salt
In water

I’m also using the bio canna line

Happy growing

Hell yeah man that list llooks pretty similar to mine. Have you ever gown in coco outdoors?

After doing more research I find that its better to leave coco to indoor grows. I've decided to go with 50% promix 25%perlite 25%ewc/compost + all my amendments. Never dealt with promix really does it have enough perlite in it to begin with that I can do 50/50 promix ewc/compost? Thanks for stopping by

Watch out FinTheFarmer, perlite is great for an indoor soil but keep in mind that it breaks down over time and end up forming some kind of cement. If you plan on growing big plants over a long period of time, I would replace it with sand, clay pellets and things of that nature.

By the way, 400 gallons per plant is freaking great. You're really going to get the most out of each plant that way!!

Cheers from Ireland,

That's interesting I never knew that - I'll probably only reuse the soil twice before replacing.

Yesss man I can't wait to see these bad bitches thrive in 400 gallon under full sun! I'll have a log for sure
