Soil ph too low?

I checked my soil ph today and it's 5.85. So Iwant to bring it up. I heard lime is good to use. What kind of lime should I get and how much should I expect to use in a 2.5gallon pot?

Hydrated lime, and just follow the instructions. Dolomite lime takes to long to break down and should be used as a stabilizer of PH levels.

Please don't tell people to use hydrated lime! That stuff is too hot and even in small amounts can fry your plant!
If you want to raise your pH then flush with properly pH adjusted water, that should do the trick.

Ok so when I flush next time just use water phed to 6.5 or higher? I imagine 6.5

any where from 6.5 to 7.0 will be fine. And continue to water with properly adjusted water from now on.

I've always used properly phed water actually...
