soil or hydro??? need input!

Ok so here is my situation. I have built a room in a room and am about to harvest my second set of soil grown sweeties. I have been growing for 8 months and it has all been bagseed in dirt with miracle grow nutes. The stuff came out great and I learned alot.

Now I am interested in going with a Hydro set up but I am clueless as to how much time is involeved with groing Hydro.

I have read about changing the reservoir water every couple of weeks, constand PPM and PH monitoring.

My mother in law stays with us during the week to help take care of our kid so Monday through Friday I will be limited in my ability to access the room and my setup.

So My question is how much day to day time is involved with a basic ebb/flow auto timed hydro setup?

Well if ur room is already dialed, you really shouldn't need to be there every day. If

u cant go to ur grow room alot it would be a good idea to oversize ur res. Its gonna

cost u more in nutes but for the less overall maintence, i would say fuck it and not

worry bout it. My "buddy" uses 50 gal res under his 3x3 table. He can only check his

room on sundays because he works so much... He uses simple GH lucas formula(8ml

Micro/16ml bloom and powder kool bloom in the 6th week. His bud is my favorite too.

I kinda forgot to mention that the oversized res will help keep ur ph and ppm more

stable and for longer.

Sounds like a larger than needed reservoir will help to keep the solution from taking any crazy swings.

Funny thing about hydro is that just when you think you have a handle on it it takes a big bite out of your ASS!!

Giving you the benefit of already knowing how to grow in soil and being successful at it and that your doing your research on how best to do it there is a chance that you might be able to pull it off the first time and your in the right place to make sure of success.

You would be smart to learn from FS he has made some very good points

You will have to spend time getting your room dialed in.

HYDRO is not plug and play.

Get over sized Tanks build an ebb & flow system to run with them.

Use simple nutes

Would like to see you run a journal for this (for i am a voyeur)

if you are an experienced hydro grower you won't need access but every few days. if this is your first time growing hydro you will need to check your shit constantly. when things go bad hydro they go really bad really fast. imo perfect soil growing first, maybe order some seeds and grow your favorite smoke, but i'd stick with soil unless you are a commercial grower, imo better quality weed comes from soil you get a little less yield and you finish a week or two later but the smoke is better and tastes better. hydro is just a pain in the ass because even when you do everything by the book something still comes to fuck your shit up.
