Soil growers, how do you water??

So I started out with 12 plants. Am now down to 7 due to males and a hermi (hermi was late to the game).
Watering was no problem when they were small. Now that they are five ft tall, it can be a pain in the ass sometimes moving 'em around (trying not to break branches or damage the plants).

What do you do to avoid constantly moving your plants to get them watered?

Do you recommend moving the plants around? Rotating them and giving the plants a turn so they are not constantly butted up to one and other at the same points of contact?

Sometimes we try to out-think the plants and be their everything. Try waiting to see how the plants themselves adjust to where the light is and let mother nature do the work. Leave them in the same spot and water them. Isn't worrying about them enough work all by itself? Great looking plants enjoy!

But im not sure if it will help you much, but in my setup, I only have two plants, But im sure you could make a variable of the same design to work for you. but i have a 2 1/2 gal bucket with a hole drilled it the bottom of it, suspended on a Bar that runs over my plants, (Closet grow, the closet bar of course.) But i just glued a piece of fishtank airhose in the hole, got a 3 way adapter, Plugged one of the 3 outputs up and ran the other two to each of my plants. Gravity did the rest. although i did have to burn the ends of the tube closed, Then make a smaller hole with a needle so it was a drip. But it Deff keeps them good and wet.

I am on my first grow and am looking for better ways to water. I use 3 gal buckets now. I know one thing I have to do is get them up off the ground for starters.
During the initial veg, I didn't light them up correctly and they stretched. I thought at first "Cool!"; now I know why keeping the light as close as possible is wiser.
Will have to think how i can do a gravity feed. Might be well worth it.

Looks like my friends grow. He just made a extension of his water jug with a copper pipe so he could reach all of them. I've got mine up a bit on a grate so the overflow can be contained.

I hear that...Only problem for me was I noticed mold on some leaves from time to time. I have since gotten a de-humidifer in the room and it looks to have helped that situation.
Its a real pain right now because they are tied up due to stretch. I really need to get some bamboo chutes to hold them up over stringing them up from above...real hard to move them at this point.

Thats what I need to do. I water once every two days and water them until I see runoff from the bottom. I know eventually if I keep them on the ground like that, that runoff is going to work both ways and I am going to hurt the plant with some contamination.

WOW nice man lookin good I'm giing with 6 plants next round u use 600 or 1000 watts on that setup? Less movement as possible use some light trimming and dont be afrain to lean the buds. later and good luck!!

I set up a drip irrigation system for my 9 in flowering. I bought one of those 3 gallon pressure sprayers... Connected 1/4" line to it & used 2gph drips.

Every day i fill it up, pump it, and about 4 mins later they are watered I made 1 extra drip and it goes into a measuring cup, so I know EXACTLY how much they are getting.

Using 600wHPS. Have done some trimming to get ventilation and air flow going to the back plants..
Have a couple weeks left to go before harvest. Going to put some cash into my little grow area, so trying to not re-invent the wheel..

What you could do, instead of have to move them yourself, get yourself a rotating base, like you sometimes see in chinese restaurants, line them up, and if you need to water the ones in the back, of you just want them to grow a little differently, you just rotate the base.

I'm thinking, since you seem to have... 7 plants, get yourself 3 bases, and that should do the trick.

Or you could just try to space them out a little more.

Maybe I should have posted this in "setups"..

At any rate, anyone have pics of their watering setups I can take a peek at?

That's an awesome idea...Come to think of it, I came across some of those bases at Tuesdays not too long ago..Will definitely keep that idea in mind as well! Nice one dude.

Hey mate, if it wasn't for you, I wouldn't have thought of it myself. I'll probably be implementing that myself into my setup! ^_^

Great deal, are the pots on concrete? if so use styrofoam as a insulator from heat exchange next round . Killer stuff

Had not heard about styrofoam before..Interesting idea there.
