Soil and molasses question

I started my plant in just some backyard dirt that i sifted through and microwaved for about 90 seconds. Im gonna go get some real soil today but i dont know what would be best. Ill attach a picture so you can see the size. Its about 2 weeks old.

Q's
1.What soil would be best?

2.Where can i get it?

3.About how much $$ is it?

4.How old does the plant need to be before you start putting molasses in the water?

5. I have 3-23w 6500k on my plant right now for veg. I had 4 but dropped one. Is that enough light to veg it? I have 5-23w 2700k for flowering.

Sorry for the rather long list of questions, but im a super noob at this.

Also is there any special technique to use when transplanting to a bigger pot?

I think the new rule on lighting should be, "If you have to ask if its enough then no, its not enough."

As for the molasses Im not 100% sure but I believe it should be mild, can be picked up at any grocery store, cost will vary from cheap to expensive. Not sure when to start adding it and the soil that most people prefer here is Fox Farm Ocean I believe. I however am getting great results from some 78 cent Walmart cheapo stuff.

yea but noobs dont know everything about growing. A noob could have a 1000w hps and still be like "hey do i got enough light", cause were noobs and dont know how everything is supposed to be yet.

Understandable and Im not knocking you for being a newb. Its awesome that your asking questions. Decent questions at that. When you grow inside always remember the more light you have the better off you are. If it was me and I had a 1000 Watt hps I would still throw in more lights of different spectrum's.

I wonder if walmart would have fox farms? If not what npk should the soil be? The plant is about 2 weeks old.

No walmart doesnt sell fox farms you need to go to a specialty shop for it. I could be wrong but I dont think soil has NPK specifications on it. Any soil that has vermiculite, perlite and peat moss is an excellent choice.

1 TBL Mol per gallon water, 2 outta 3 waterings, starting 3rd-5th week is what I'm doing.
I use it all the way out, and personally, don't flush.

Hey fishy are you saying you don't flush at all? You grow and cut it without flushing? Hows the smoke? Smooth?

Smokes fine. I'm the measliest feeder I know of, and don't think there's nuttin' left when the grows done.
Actually I'm 3 weeks into flowering on an experimental grow I'm doing using pre-nuted soil and nothing else (but water) so realistically, I guess you could say I'm flushing from the very first watering.
Still, I've never flushed plants in 30 indoor years, and never heard of it, or considered it, until stopping by RIU.
I will be doing the molasses thing next watering, in week 4-5?

I give 2 tblspns per gal. At every feeding. With heavy nutes. Through Veg and Flower. I only stop using it a week before harvest. I don't nessecarily "flush. But the last week I give them nothing for 3 days. Then, plain water feeding. Then 3 days with nothing else. Last 2 days, I even turn the lights off completely. I promise everyone. MOLASSES WORKS!

Not only have I noticed it increasing bud size almost as soon as administered. But the use of it through veg, will also increase stem growth. I can't tell you why but I can tell you I've personally done little experiments with it; I find it one of the best things to give my plants, next to it's NPK feeding.

So, take my advice and try it on a couple and leave the rest. One thing though. I have noticed if you stop molasses feeding about 2 weeks before flowering; The bud wont retain the sometimes harsh taste mollassas can leave behind. I stop a week before cuz I like a slight flavor. I abuse them a little with the last weeks lighting and feeding schedules. But I believe this to increase resin production greatly.

Feel free to check out my current SOG/SCROG thread. Lots of pics. All plants done with molasses. Most are around week 2-3. Check out the main stem and strong early bud development. Here's a link:

wait... so do you use nutes along with the molasses or just the molasses? first grow- 5 days into flowering and using a bloom formula but really intrigued by the possibilities...

Everytime I use molasses I find that bugs, little spidermites I believe, just cover the soil. The soil looks alive there are so many, but they always end up in my coke can light reflectors and die from the heat then I shake them out above the trash can so they don't end up in the bud. Could these bugs be eating the plants or harm them in any way. I haven't noticed any holes in leaves or pistils being chewed off but I would like to know before I commit to using molasses.

Sorry if posted in the wrong place, first grow and first forum I've ever used.

i use molasses never have bugs. im guessing your checking your grow room soon as u get home from what ever and that ur carrying the bugs in there on your skin clothes from outside. never go from outside to grow room with out clean clothes on personally i always shower after being outside before entering my grow room.

I use earth juice nutes, and seems to be really sugary (the grow formula that is) kinda like a mocha. with something that rich how do you think moleasses would work for a soil grower with the earth juice? I feed 1 oz grow 1oz bloom during flower per gallon. every other feeding.
