What is up everybody? Newbie to rollitup here. Figured I'd break the ice by starting a grow journal of my new medical setup. Heres the run down:

- 4 flood trays 4'x4'
- 2 1000w ballasts
- 2 Magnum XXXL 8" Reflectors
- 1 8" Inline fan
- CO2 tank with regulator
- 2 large 18" and 16" oscillating fans
- Basic 3 Part AN Nutes( Kushie Kush for flowering)
- 2 resevoirs(1 for either strain)
- Large 8"x8" Rockwool cubes
- 36 cutting(18 Pre-98 Bubba/18 OG Kush) in rapid rooters :eyesmoke:

I'm going to be picking a dehumidifier and couple air pumps with airstones
within a few days.

I just finished PHing my rockwool and have already got the OG in the cubes, now I'm just waiting for the other ones to dry out a little before inserting the Bubbas'. Those damned things take forever to dry out! But don't want to over water the babies, patience is key. I'll be using a flood system this round, watering schedule yet to be determined.

I'm open to any suggestions. I'm new to hydro and am willing to learn... I mean that is the reason I'm posting this journal after all!!! Thanks in advance to all you helpful members :bigjoint:

:peace:

I'm actually not going perpetual for this one. Ill veg them in 2 trays under 1 1000w. Slowly raising the light from 50% to 75%, and then 100% when I feel theyre ready (The Lumatek ballast has a dimmer). I'm also slowly switching them from a 24 hour schedule to an 18/6. When they're big enough i'll put them into all 4 trays and under both 1000w's. I'll probably switch to 12/12 shortly after this point as well.

I just finished putting the rest of the Pre-98 in the rockwool. They're all looking pretty droopy. Obvious nutrient and water problems. I project that i'll have them all balanced out within a few days.

Going well, switched to 12/12 this week. I've got my rockwool cubes on a coco mat, which is working great. Roots shooting everywhere! When I switched the OG were about 24" tall(topped several times) and the Bubba only around 10-12", both showing pre-flowers :weed:

I'm definately really happy with with OG growth, really nice roots, stems, leaves, and great reaction to topping. On the other hand the Bubbas only started showing a pretty decent growth rate about a couple weeks ago. I'm not to sure if it's srain specific or If they're just not diggin the conditions. I'm guessing the latter, seeing as how I'm new to hydro.

I started using Great White and Rhizonic a little while into veg and the plants seemed to love it. For this week of flower I've upped my Bloom, downed the Micro and Grow accordingly and have added Advanced Nutrients Bud Candy(Great results so far!!). I'll be adding Kushie Kush into the mix next week. I've got my runoff pretty stable as well.

Sorry for the lag on the updates, been so busy lately. I'll try to get some pictures posted soon as well. :eyesmoke:

The girls are looking great. The darn OG are getting a bit too tall, well past 4 ft now. I know next time to switch way earlier around 8"-12". But the Pre-98 are perfect, averaging around 2 ft. Both have a great "Sea of Green" going for them from the top view. I'll to try to get some pictures posted by tonight to show how much they've grown in only about a weeks time. Ha I'm pretty sure the OG will be tied down before the end of this run!

Real nice, those OG's sure did stretch. But they should be near max height now.

Keep at it :leaf:

Yeah, their height growth has definately slowed to a minimum. They're still way to close to the light I think. I'm worried about bleaching, but there's nothing i can do now except wait and see what happens.

Last week I removed two of the smaller Bubba and 1 of the OG from the system due to severe overwatering/lack of oxygen, with no signs of recovery, apparently due to the failure of my damned airpump. I didn't notice this because only one side of the pump was broken, but still an apparent lack of oxygen. Only a few plants were slightly effected. I went and bought a new pump and flushed the system with H2O2 and sensizym. They're looking good , take a look :-D

Advanced nutrients three part, Kushie Kush, Sensi Calmag Bloom , Bud Candy, H2O2 3%. Recently added the Calmag, definately a must. I was noticing a progressing Magnesium deficiency on several Bubbas. Problem was instantly solved once added.

PH to 5.2 at the beginning of the light cylce, rises to 5.8 by the next day.

PPM stays steady at 1550. I top off the resevoir with water and nutrients several times a week. 30 Gallon rez flooding both trays.

I water 3 times a day. First water 15 minutes, second 10 minutes, third 10 minutes. I water them a little more every so often, usually when flushing. I flush once a week as well with ROd water adding only carbs and H2O2. Then empty and refill with nutrient solution the following day. PPM will rise around 300 after one day of flushing with ROd water, thats why I empty once more.

Average room temps around 90 and humidity 50%. Wish I could keep those temps down, Ill have that issue fixed by my next run. Still dialing in everything.

Hope this is helpful :bigjoint:

Yea im using the kushie kush to its killls. I didnt get a chance to use it last start untill the forth week.
When using RO water you have to add the calmag because the RO takes all the cal and mag out of the water. Alot of ganular fertilizers dont contain calcium for that reason.(also cause smart soillers put lime in there soil!) And when calcium is mixd with sulpher(in an undilute form, it turns into Gypsum. It forms on the bottom. This is why you mix micro first and then grow and bloom.
I was thinking about getting an RO but my water sorce is so pure already. And i dont like wasting money on cal mag. When water, bloom, kushiekush and vitamax contains mag. ANd calcium is in micro, water, and since active hydro doesnt contain lime a cal mag would be good.
For your heat problem you should add C02 or a bigger outtakes. Co2 is best asbord in higher temps. If you were running C02 in a room that is only 22c-25c.. you would be wasting Co2. Your passive intake will bring enough in.
Now if it gets to be over thirty in there you might want to get a bigger out take. I bought a 12 inch with a can fan and run a passive intake. You cant smell a thing. The outake draws new air in 24/7. SO the smell cant leak out cracks. Now when it get really hott you add a fan to the intake to increase ventilation. If you run a 8 inch fan then you run a 4 inch intake. Never have your intake running when your outtake shuts out. It will cause the smelly air out all the leaks in your room. And the air will find its way out! good job tho looks good:peace:

The Calmag definately is a must, especially since at this point I'm almost completely cutting out the Micro in my solution.

My room is completely sealed, no fresh air intake. I run a carbon filter to keep things fresh in the room and one 8" inline fan cooling my 2 1000w hoods, could definately use more. I was really considering using those water cooled ice boxes. I run CO2 at 1500ppm all day baby and off at night of course. The temps are close to where i want them to be, but in these last weeks when I'm trying to lower my humidity they've been pretty difficult to control. It also doesnt help that the OG are freaking way to huge. At 5 ft and with buds that are bigger than beer bottles, they're definately creating a lot of humidity in the room.

Thanks for the tips, moving right along :weed:
