So my girlfriend and i were pondering the question of mind body separation. Is the mind beyond the physical world, existing as a separate entity, or is the mind limited to the same natural law of everything else? After pondering for a while she questioned the state of mind during a super intense mushroom trip. If you feel like you are literally in an alternate place, experiencing what seems to be real all in your mind then does that not insinuate reality? And if your mind experiences one reality while your body simultaneously experiences something completely different, does that not again suggest they are separate entities? Answer us this...please :)

It's a pretty interesting question. But I think in terms of a mushroom trip where your mind is experiencing it's own reality and your body is experiencing a different one is all due to the chemicals you induced into your physical mind. By inducing these chemicals, of course the real world and your headspace are going to get mixed up, even to the point that they might be doing two different things. Though they diverge, in the end they meet up in the same place. So I would say mind and body are not two different things but rather entities held by similar rules.

For example, one really intese mushroom trip I had during summer, gave me what i thought were telekenetic powers and I could watch myself die. I literally thought I was seeing the future of what was to come. I had fallen down the side of the mountain we were on and broken my limbs and blood was coming down my mouth. Then my friend carried me into the car and my girlfriend drove me home.

However, in reality i was just chilling with everyone and I kind of tranced out. I couldn't cope with reality but my friend DID carry me to the car and my girlfriend and I both got inside. But we didn't drive anywhere.

Comparing both stories you can see that there are some similarities. They divereged, but came together in the end. However, just because I died in my mind didn't mean I died in real life. After the trip wore off, I was back to normal.
