So you 'Juana Cut Corners, eh? Simple Comparison Grow in Progress...

Yeah, now one of my pineapple twins is the runt; she's the one without drip irrigation, so I may be getting a bonus comparison out of those two set-ups. I will most likely do a quick compare post at the end of just those plants with their system breakdowns. Thanks for keeping tuned - as for clipping swaps, perhaps down the road a ways when I'm more established in growing and have more space I will get a little more locally social...but for now I'll remain an anonymous newb - I do appreciate the encouragement though! By the way, The Healing Center in Greenwood (Ballard area) has spectacular purp diesel and sour diesel clones if you're not looking to go from seed.

I'll have to keep that in mind! I picked up some purple diesel from a dispensary a few weeks ago and loved it. I'll have to try to make it to greenwood

Judging from their height, I'll be considering switching to flower soon. Quick process this time around, compared to the airless closet with CFLs - way quicker.

A bus ride away, brother city.
Looks good, subbed up as well.

Too bad it's too damn cold wet and rainy up here for outdoors.

Hey, thanks for dropping in. Indeed on the outdoor; a friend grew outside this year in Yakima - colas the size of wine bottles. We just smoked it last weekend, and damn...the flavor and the smell is miles above the indoor that I've tasted recently. Something about nature that we just can't beat.

A few pics just because:

Yea.. and it's a damn shame we can't grow strong Sativas up here..
Well it's hard anyways.
Actually.. I'm starting to get ideas.

Any idea on the flowering time of the Yakima bush?
And when he harvested? Just curious.

Sorry, baked.
Forgot to mention how clean and green your gardening is.
Keep it up, I'm digging the Indicas, so much variety in shape is interesting.

I don't know the specs on the Yakima grow, other than that the beans went in the ground in late June or early July. We smoked a tad early in the cure (maybe in the jar for three weeks max (maybe 7 days in hang-dry)); a little intuitive math would put flower around 8 to 9 weeks...with harvist mid to late October.

Thanks for the compliments by the way. I sometimes feel a bit inept when I see the operations some folks put together; and DIY no less. Peace.

Wow, from seed in june, that's crazy..

Mid October is pretty much what I was expecting, couldn't understand much further out here,
it's already piercing cold these days.

Yeah, I wish I had a few progression pics - he planted them in a raised bed with tomatoes; when the tomatoes started popping, there were red balls everywhere in his pics, but once the girls took hold, not a single tomato was visible; looked like a fabled Vietnam pot forest! I know the timing of planting because he and I acquired legitimate mmj documentation a week apart, and started growing immediately.

Seeds were planted directly into the beds, and he may actually have cheated just a little by putting them in soil when he made his appointment versus when he got his permit, so he may even have planted in late may if the math is making you scratch your head. I really don' know the true day count (and he's very much lit so I'm pretty sure he doesn't know either), but the estimations are pretty good and he was quite successful. He also started with feminized artisan seeds.

That's good enough for me.
Late May is the answer I was looking for, we're so damn close it doesn't matter much.

Thanks, how's the no-bullshit grow coming?

All things are quite well. I'm heading out for a week and I have left my girls in transition, and in the hands of a fellow mmj patient; well equipped to make sure my girls get proper attention. When I come back, I'll switch to the HPS for flower and see how many weeks it takes.

I realize this is an unimpressive "comparison" in that there really is no scientific foundation here, but I think we all know what the right equipment can do, and once these girls get into flower, I think the pictures early on and the new ones will suffice for newbs to get a quick visual difference between plants grown in optimal conditions and those which are not.

Here are a few pics to pass the week:

I'd have to agree with you, after having a CFL grow, HPS is a completely different experience. It's such a nice feeling when you look at your 5 week pictures, and then look at your 8 week photos, only to realize that your 8-9 week CFL grow looked like week 5 under HPS!

Cheers mate; speaking of which, did you switch to 600w yet? Of course i'm already itching - that's the way it goes!

C.Indica - I've been steering you horribly wrong (looks like I'm the one who's lit); the Yakima grow was from clone in early June. There were no seeds; terribly sorry if the misinformation got your head twisted. A mutual friend stopped by and we had a chat about it - he may swing thru to post a pic. Peace.

Ahh much more along the lines of what I was planning.
The plot thickens..

The freezes definately hit us late may last year.
June sounds much better.

I did! I've been flowering under HPS for 8 weeks now. I still veg under CFL, but I'm also lacking the space to have another hot light blasting heat into my house. I absolutely love it. The bud and trich production are out of this world, compared to last time. I'm running a few of the same strains, too, so you can get a good comparison from last grow to this one.

Thanks mate, now to get the curing just right! I've got a few jars of meds that are just about perfect. It'll be nice when they're ready to enjoy
