So... When is Obama going to end the war?

It's time to try those Blackwater killers. They treat Iraqis like dogs. Shoot on site when ever there is percieved to be a danger, and the US government should fire them all.

The government can not do anything to Blackwater, they are not in anyway connected to the government. This is a private army created by some guy that inherited his dad's business(car visors) and sold it to make his army. You should watch the documentary.

Yeah, what's his name, Prince?--and his mom was one of the principle funders of Prop 8.

you sound like your speaking from experiance, have you been there to see that stuff happen or are you just puking up info you saw on MSNBC

sounds like you like to TRY people and place guilt before court starts...sounds communist to me

and dont even tell me this Congress is anything other than a DO nothing congress.
The lockstep comment is BS, there is dozens of moderates and left leaning republicans who voted or would vote with bills if Pelosi and congress would even attempt to try and pass them...dont tell me if it was bi partisan and a really good bill it wouldnt get passed...

but we will NEVER know if they dont introduce it so your comment has no real value

Geeze, Musta struck a nerve. The reason they never sent a bill is they knew Dubya would veto it, (He told them that) and they didn't have near enough votes to override. Now about blackwater, yes the government can do something, they can fire them. Then they could give the Iraqis the go ahead to prosecute. Now calm down, take a chill pill.

Dont mistake my passion to debate as a struck nerve or anger...
im old and mature enough to know we could never come to a compromise on the subject...but I dont know how in my comment I sounded like I needed a chill pill or uncalm...lol

just opening up the issue for further debate...
regardless of what W would do if the BILL was worthy then it would have been created by both parties and be passed
did you know over 90% of the bi partisan bills got passed by W
So maybe if both sides worked together theyd get more done, thats better than doing nothing or writing up a great bill and then shoving a bunch of other crap thatll get vetoed in there with it,...
that is the reason why half get vetoed because the good ideas get bunched in with a whole butt load of crap that will never pass...
time for more bi partisan bills and agreement IMO
im tired of one view or the other...arent you?
one subject one vote not many things on one bill
seperate bills into subjects and issues not a homoginized mix...
then each bill or referendum or whatever will be weighed by its VALUE
and not vetoed because its on the same bill as some dumb crap only a few want...
thats the fairest way.

Most of these bills were proposed by republicans and of course W would have passed them, I realize that the dems have no Balls when it came to standing up to bush, I could never figure that out.

I suppose that could be done, but it's not the way of congress. Everyone needs to put something that will help him/her or their constituency (Spelled Brother-in-law) in the bill before it passes out of the house or senate, called right enough pork. Spending bills that send money to a congressmans state for a specific reason, IE "bridge to nowhere" are going to someone that the congressman knows will make him a little richer in the end, who knows, maybe he'll get that 25 acres on that creek he's had his eye on for a while for a couple a hundred bucks. Shit happens. I realize Obama is only one man, and he is saddeled with gigantic corruption every where he turns, I really hope he can put a modicum of decency and honesty back into government. I really don't see him as a greedy prick. I'm sure he'll come out of the presidency richer than he went in, but they all do that. I want him to hold to that transparency thingy he postulated during the campaign.

hey man that is one thing we can agree on,
I didnt vote for him but as an American it is now my job to support him and let him have his chance. If he fails then so be it, if he succeeds thank god....I would never hope for failure because I didnt vote for someone, thats un american and not cool. No matter you should always hope for the best for this great country...not hope for the worst since you voted for the other guy.

You can hate your government and dispise the people running it and totally disagree
but always love your country

look for the bright side and hope for the best. Thats the only way we can ever get anywhere. Praying for his failure is ignorant and all I can do now is hope all the things he promised come to fruition.
As a true americanthat is my prayer for the man, even though I have different views he has my full well wishes and support.

Now its all on him to shine or crash and burn...time will tell

Well, i cant say for sure about the US presence, but looks like the British army will be gone before the end of 2009, so an end to the Iraq war for us. A sign of progress or lack of it? I suppose time will tell. The US and UK are lucky to be able to call an end when we want, for iraq's there is no timetable for withdrawl. Guess they will be picking up the check. From an external viewpoint, that was one hell of an election. Every day the republican campaign seemed to get worse and worse. I'll be honest, they looked like a total joke. McCain rambling like he had Alzheimers and Pailin, well... was being Pailin. Obama, cool and unfazed by the global economic meltdown oozed charisma and freshness. But the polls, those goddam polls, denied obama a significant lead untill the last month. I honestly cant see how McCain got any supporters at all, maybe its an American thing?

so the overall message I am getting is America isn't calling this a war?

Just trying to figure this out. we have Canadians dieing over there and unfortunately we have a whacko conservative in power who thinks its his ultimate goal is to kiss U.S. ass. That might change with a "filthy democrat" in power now. Hopefully it will. :D:D

So in other words, an exact repeat of Vietnam?
no, vietnam was a 100% blunder

it was technically a military victory (if you look at mission success and strength) but because it was not technically a war but a UN operation so the military had very restricted authority (ie not being able to pursue the enemy as well as not being able to actually invade north vietnam)

this is iraq thing is stupid because they assigned a specific date to leave

the bastards mucking things up in that country now know all they have to do is hibernate for a few years, gather strength and support, and attack en mass

well........is a military base considered US soil? like an embassy?
im not trying to debate it cause i probably would lose...but yes i would consider it foriegn land only because i dont see a embassy for every country in american states...so why do the US have to have a base or embassy in almost every country..
