So this would be my 3rd attempt lol at growing

First two times were utter shames lol. But this time seems to be good. Both plants are about a month and 2 weeks. I’m just wondering if anyone has any advice. These are Orangina seeds from Colorado. Again newbie here no clue what I’m doing lol so let the comments begin…. Serious question though…how does one deal with a super thick bushy plant..I’m scared to get mold.

I remove some fan leaves from the middle of the plant.. Selective thinning..
Okay def will do this, I have been reading and im kinda nervous to remove fan leaves...buttt are the ones that should be removed growing towards the stalk? I hope i worded that right. I cut off fan leaves on my 2nd grow and it stayed small as hell. I was sad lol.

My best advice for new growers:

Grow in coco coir, use bottled nutrients and tap water (assuming your tap water isn't harmful to plants in some way, in 99% of the developed world this shouldn't be a problem). My opinion, soil is "tricky" to learn even the watering patterns, let alone the health of the soil itself. Focus on direct-feed to plants, and once you've gotten used to this method & land a few successful harvests, then try soil.

Thank you for this advice! I have been wanting to try Coco coir but thought id F it up lol..Can you transplant seedlings into coco? i have a new little one i started..not even at the 3rd node yet. Or do you have to start in that medium?

Yep, absolutely can transplant from soil to coco, and vice versa

In fact, ALWAYS start seedlings in coco, and at a later date they can go into soil no problem

Also look at LST training ( Low stress training ) which is basically tying branches to “ open “ up such bushy innards. Especially when stems are fairly pliable. I don’t think trellis will help much as plants needed to be woven into the netting squares .

That is why I mentioned LST. And the selective pruning as mentioned above . Plants look pretty good BTW.

Thank you bruddah! Im trying to learn a little more this time. Im using FFOF little bit of Perlite, Dynomyco which i think is what caused the broccoli like stalk i have and also REcharge every other water. I have liquid nutes but im scared af to burn these plants lol. all fox farm nutes.

Oh another question lol When should i flip these? They are in a 3x3 and already kinda touching the walls?

Dealer’s choice on flip time - :bigjoint:

But maybe do some training , light pruning before , let the tops level to the light ( a couple days after ) then proceed.
Try not to run bloom nutrients yet. Let plant run on Veg power thru transition / sexxing and stretch. Once that is slowed , Then she is in BLOOM MODE.

Noticed one plant is sitting on a plant riser and other is not. Recommend that one get one too.
‘Keeps the bottom from staying soggy. Not sure what plan will be with the little plant upfront if you flip to flower.

Ahhh okay thanks for the advice on that, im terrified to burn my plants with nutes..i did it my last grow lol and will be getting another riser for that one as well.
The little one, i was thinking about throwing outside, daylight now is about 14 hours a day so im hoping it will stay in veg. Just wanna see the difference between this indoor grow and the outdoor performance. Random ass question....but how much water should these two be getting, another fear i have is overwatering so i only give them like enough to feel the bottom of the pots are wet. Something tellin me they probably thirsty af lol

You can judge most containers by weight. Plants do not need watering on a schedule but when containers feel a bit lighter.
Some run enough water thru containers till some runoff happens. It allows fresh oxygen to come in plus wash out salts. However their is no need to drench .

You will find that the plants will tell you how many days “ between “ watering , some go a few days , some sooner. That’s why I mentioned plant risers so bottoms can aerate ( roots ).

By keeping things simple , you will do well.

This will give you an idea about LST . I carefully tie open the branches around container perimeter. But sometimes if you are not careful , some branches can snap. Then a little tape to mend it will be fine. Plant will throw a knuckle when it heals.

There is no true way to do training , as some growers go for symmetry ( mainline / hubbing ) or even bonsai like structures.
‘You just want to break the normal Xmas tree shape it would try to grow into. Eventually look into supercropping , lollipop and of course topping.

Super cropping was something i was thinking cause it looks cool af and also i like how all the bud points get light. Im starting to see how simple the idea of just trying to get it to not look like a Christmas tree lol Also thanks for the advice on watering, one of my other fears lol. I appreciate all the advice bruddah! I just want a nice plant to look at and a decent smoke to enjoy.
