So PPM of 3900 is probably a tad high.

I love this question... no i haven't watered to run off, except for a couple times unintentionally.. like last night when i decided to test the ppm... But tonight i dumped 3 gallons of RO water through it and the immediate PPM dropped down to 1500...I just dump the excess water, if thats what you mean by what do i do with it..
Yeah, if there is a lot of runoff you need to drain it off somehow, some folks let it sit there for days, which is begging for root problems. I believe your problem will be solved if you water until a bit of runoff happens every time. A bit of runoff doesn't necessarily have to be dumped, depending on your setup, it might just evaporate pretty quickly. @ttystikk is a perceptive guy, & he is right, someone should have asked that question sooner.

Every plant is salt tolerant to a certain point beyond that damage will occur regardless of size.
would a 15 footer be ok in 8000 ppm?

Don't matter how big your plants are the above reaction is not size dependent.
To simplify same shit happens to you when you are in the ocean too long or you been playing with your girl for awhile and your fingers get wrinkly. A big finger aint gonna make a difference...

Mines only about 3' ( tree not wrinkled finger ), so for that size, i'm surprised it hasn't spontaneously combusted.. Some good info here, thanks!

No, your EC got out of control because you don't water your plants to the point where they pee a bit and in so doing they carry off the excess nutes.

You should water until the plant pees 10-20% of its watering.

Thank you, and being a grower of larger plants I disagree with the other poster saying that they need higher EC.

Thanks for that. The internet can really blow sometimes for new people like me. I've been using their sensi bloom and grow, big bud, voodoo juice, bud candy, b52 .. and some other fancy marketing stuff.. No wonder my other plant is doing so much better because I've been giving it more water than nutes.. live and learn I guess
these are growing now with everything you just named and tap water, and they are sticky as hell and nearly done. I've been using AN for three years in dwc and haven't had a failure or headache since lol. Its that you are using them in soil, along with the watering problem, but now that you know you'll be on your way to finding what's best for you. If organic soil is how you want to go then pick a single method and follow that alone til you've got it then branch out. There's a ton of seasoned soil folks here my advice to you is pick one and study that one alone, the cacophony of opinions on internet forums is the worst thing for new folks

Wrong choice for op using soil, but you can grow fire with AN. Why blow all that $ when running soil? Because the local shop needs business.

And because I'm a noob and read the wrong shit . The fox farm advanced nute combo was a bad idea. It all of the sudden makes sense with the input here. This thread really cleared up where I messsed .. I was going to use coco originally, and now that I have all this shit sitting around, maybe I'll transfer my new little buggers into it.

Since I posted this I ran 3.5 gallons of water through the bucket & got the PPM down to 1500.

I see that! And for the most part, that's what I've been doing. I've only followed a couple guys on YouTube that I feel I can get reliable info from, but by that part I was already set with my soil & because I had no visible problems, I thought I was doing something right. It wasn't until the last week or so that I realized my plant was smelling like nutes and I knew that couldn't be right.
I also wondered why the advanced nute bottles never mentioned soil lol... back to school. Hopefully I didn't screw this plant up too bad, but I have two growing up behind it that will benefit from a different process.

I'd flush a little more dude, unless you are about done feeding them then you could probably go straight water at that point.
If you drop feed onto that 1500 ppm youll be right back up there. 1500 is lilke 2.1 ec, a bit high for soil, maybe I missed it but how far along are you?
Horrible ear infection making it hard to concentrate ha...

Edit nvm i see you are at the end. Most guys I see are cutting feed way down by that time so if she has a week or two to go id flush a bit more dude and or then straight water till the xhop.

I left it at 1500 because i ran out of water :) Then I figured id leave it for a couple days before i water again ( no nutes) .. i didn't want to drown it.

Also a new update/problem... I noticed what looked like mold on some of the popcorn buds and a couple of the lower main buds.. So I cut down just about all of my stems , except for the 4 main colas on the top of the plant. To be honest though, I'm a little excited for the follow up plant I have going. I have a couple Super Silver Hazes going.. This particular one was a bag seed, but it grew well.
