Usually rust spots indicate a mag/cal deficiency. Hows your pH? Trying adding some lime and maybe some MagiCal, or something similar.

BUT, it could be something else... as I said, pictures help.

i am not exactly sure of the ph ,, i do have the ph test kit & did a few tests when i had them here , before the transplant & they were fine ,, i used super thrive more than the called for measures , they say 1 drop /gal , i used about 10 drops per 2 liter , but liek i said they were fine until the transplant ,, with my tap water @ around ph 9 , , with the thrive it droped to very acidic , low 5's... i just need to sit & figure out percision measurements , as i never mix nutes before i go to my spot , , i get there , mix it up & pour it on ,, i would hate to sit in the mosquito infested forrest & run ph tests ,, , ughhh ... also the rain water here is very high , about a 9 also

what type of pH meter are you using? a pH of 9 for rainwater is crazy, should be between 5-7. sounds like you need a better test method.

you may have burned the plant if the brown spots are starting at the leaf tips. 10 drops per 2 liters is a lot, especially when the manufacturer calls for 1 drop per 3.8 liters.

i just got a lil ph tester , u fill the water to a level line on the small bottle included... drip in 2 drops of teh blue test liquid ,, & see what ph ur at ,, then it came with a can of ph up & down .,..i was giving 10 drops of thrive , the whole time from day one till now ,, about 3 weeks later & not any problems , the tips are not burnt , just small spots on the leaf , not the leaf tips tho ,,, ... yeah rain is 9 , usually ,, thats detroit michigan for ya

well if your pH isn't around 6-7, you're gonna have some nutrient lock out. I would use some lime for a buffer, and make sure you mix your nutrients at around 6.5. out of wack pH will def starve your plants of calcium and magnesium, which sounds like what you're describing.

get that pH worked out, but you can go ahead and help the plant take up it's missing mag/cal by using a foliar feed. just make sure to mix it about 1/3 strength, unless the product is exclusively for foliar feeding.
