Hey all. Just wundering...
I was trimming and putting my GSC into jars tonight and found a few spider mites... there isnt vary many and i didnt see any on the buds i put in the jars...

My question is... is it ok to carry on with curing if there may be a few mites in the jars with the buds?

Like i said there wasnt many but im sure i probly missed some.

Thanks!

Hey thanks for the fast reply. Honestly im confident enough that if theres any there is very few so it wouldnt "bug" me to smoke them. Lol

Funny you mention that. I have been looking into it acually.
I don't have any experience with it but I've heard it mentioned in all the posts I've passed about spider mites on flowering buds or harvested buds.. I'd rather sacrifice some potency and perhaps some taste to get rid of mites entirely. Personally.

Iv also read that it can increase potancy by a little. Dont know how true that is but seems neat.

as long as their was no webbing while the buds were maturing go ahead & smoke that bud,it won't hurt you to smoke a few dead mites, every smoker here has smoked a million or more spider mites on street bud & friends bud with no I'll effect,I don't smoke mites on purpose but I'm sure I have being I've smoked truckloads of bud over 5 decades.

if you have a clean supply of other bud stored & it will tie you over till next clean harvest I would make hash out of the mite bud instead of smoking it,but a few mites won't hurt you if you do end up toking it all.

Ok right on. There was absolutly no webbing. Its as if i caugh them as soon as i possably could of. I guess what my concern is them multiplying insid the jars. Or destroying the bud inside the jars.

10-4. But do you think the weed will b ok in a jar curing IF there is any in them?
yes,the bud will be fine to cure, again if it were me I'd give the dry time an extra day & set a sacrificial plant next to the drying rack & see if I couldn't lure some of those bastards off the bud,the extra dry time will leave little for live mites to eat once you do jar the bud .

Well I don't see that happening but Mabey try putting double sided tape inside the lid of the jar 2 Mabey catch any of the little fuckers

it works with live plants u have mites on and are treating, the treated mites will hop off the treated plants onto a clean plant & you burn that bastard,I got the tip from another grower some years back, works on live plants I know for sure, good luck bud.
