So far so good with Dyna-gro

So I've been using dyna foliage pro, protekt, age old sea kelp, gh floral necter, and great white mycorrhizae(every few weeks) for my 4 clones vegging in promix and everything looks great. I'm still up in the air about what I will run in bloom, I was reading some of homebrewers threads and he recommends half dyna grow and bloom for flower or even just grow(no bloom) straight through flower. My hydro guy said he thinks it would produce a leafy bud then again he doesn't use dyna. I was thinking that I would do half grow/bloom for the first 2 weeks of flower then just bloom after that. I feel the drop in N and spike in P would get some really good results. Also maybe just use grow for the first 2 weeks then switch to bloom. That's where I'm at, haven't decided yet.

What seemed to work well for me is running Grow nutes thru the first 2 weeks of flowering before switching to low doses of Bloom nutrients and the plants stay as stable as I can muster throughout their life.
People like Homebrewer know this shit inside and out

That is exactly what I do as well first two weeks of 12/12 I keep it on vegg nutes plus low dose of bloom and my plants stay lush thru the hole cycle

My last run was on dg grow + protekt moving to bloom + protekt for flower. Nice healthy green plants.

I just got a bottle of foliage pro and I'll be using that + protect start to finish I think.

I have dg calmag too, but haven't needed it so far.

I'm growing in cheap garden centre compost with perlite mixed in.

Homebrewer does seem to be the authority on DG. His threads are a good (if long) read.

Protekt and Foliage Pro start to finish. Sometimes I suppliment with some bloom if I see a need but rare. I was totally happy when I used bloom and grow, but even happier since moving to FP!

Your hydro guy is full of shit. If you don't use Foliage Pro or Grow during flower you will be losing leaves to yellowing. Foliage pro and protekt from start to finish is the best. try and shoot for a 3-1-2, 3-1-3,or 2-1-2 ratio from veg to flower. If you check out his posts (Homebrewer) he only uses some bloom in flower if everything is very green from top to bottom IN THE MEDIUM YOU ARE USING. If you go to hydro then you will need to supplement bloom during flower.

How much fp per litre, sir? I've been using 5ml to a 5 litre mixing bottle and plan on creeping up to 10 or more by the end. Still finding my way here.

He's actually a pretty chill dude but they are trying to get sales bottom line and there is a lot of competition with hydro stores here in mass. I mean he was talking up bloom boosters a year ago(bloombastic in particular) and that shit is pricey. Bought a tiny bottle of it and didn't really like it. That was the last time I will purchase a bloom booster as I feel there is no need for them if you have your base nutes dialed in. You could also burn the shit out of your plants if not used properly. I would still consider myself somewhat of a newb growing on and off for about 3 years but I did a shitload of research and was around grows before I decided to pull the trigger and grow myself. What I'm getting at is the nute industry seems to definitely target uneducated new growers and now I realize to get the best results just keep it simple.

They just ordered some grow. They weren't carrying it because of low sales. Most hydro stores around here don't carry dyna. Why would they? Its a great inexpensive nute, better to carry the overpriced waterdown nutes. Bottom line is sales.

5ml/gallon was more than i ever used in soil. I usually topped out at 2ml/gallon but that's in coco (amount of FP)

The most I use is 5ml/gal. Mostly around 3ml/gal.
As little as that? I think an (proper!) Imperial gallon is a bit bigger than a us gallon? So maybe 5ml to 5 litre isn't too far off.

I nearly bought myself a 'gardening hat' the other day. A vintage dyna gro truckers cap. Cos I'm sad. :D

I took homebrewers advice and ran foliage pro all the way until the last couple weeks of flower then switched to bloom for the last 2.5-3 weeks and I was very impressed. If you switch early without mixing in some N they will yellow quick... And my buds weren't popcorny...
