Nah, I doubt it's over. A major setback. But this market is being bought into by new people and will likely go through numerous other booms and busts. Dunno if it will ever hit a new high. Likelihood of this being the end: 25%. Likelihood of Bitcoins becoming worthless in five years or less: 95%. Those re my best guesses.

Bongbrain, your logic is flawed. Unclebaldrick is evaluating two different probabilities. He suggests:
1. There is a 25% chance the value of a Bitcoin will continue to rapidly plummet (never again rising significantly), therefore signalling the end of Bitcoin as an investment.
This leaves a 75% chance the value of Bitcoin will rise again, and continue to rise above previous highs.
2. There is a 95% chance Bitcoin will no longer be traded in any capacity within 5 years.
This leaves a 5% chance Bitcoin will still be actively traded in 5 years, and beyond.
Both these scenarios can be considered to be independent of one another, therefore the percentages to not need to marry up.
Class dismissed.

In addition, Bitcoins has 21 million limit which will be likely reached until the year 2140. But the rise in value went nuts. From around $13 it went up to $1000 per BTC. Unstable and unpredictable it may be but I'm optimistic that virtual currency could bring potential benefits in the future.
