So am I ready to harvest here or what?

Hey guys.
I've been growing 2 lovely plants for a while and I think I'm almost there.
I have one Aurora Indica and one AK-48.
Enclosed are some photo's. They both look pretty cloudy to me, but no ambers yet. Should I wait for a few to pop up before havesting? (I generally prefer more head high than relaxing couchlock). Hope you can help me decide when to harvest.

AK-48:

(Tric photo's taken at a x100 magnification, from the buds themselves from the top and the bottom of the plant)

which one does yours look closer to?

  • I dont feel like typing this out for the 100th time so im going to copy and paste

      • scoping your trichs is not the most reliable way to tell if your plant is ready, its already been shown that some strains/phenotypes never show amber trichs even when they've reached full maturity. Scoping trichs is one of MANY factors you have to consider, its not just one or the other, its looking at ALL the signs. And another sign would be looking at how your buds actually look. All white hairs should be gone, have mostly receded back into the bud, the buds will look bigger and fuller than you've seen them to be during the rest of the grow. You really can tell when your buds are ready just by looking at them. Factoring that in WITH looking at the trichs to get a much better idea of when your buds are ready to harvest.

Remember, you DO NOT WANT any amber. Amber trichs are degraded THC, which has now turned into CBN - not to be confused with CBD which gives you the couch lock feeling your looking for, which most indicas are higher in. CBN is known to give you more of a sick feeling that anything else and has no psychoactive properties. This has been proven in many scientific studies.
If your looking for more of a couch lock type high, you need to choose your strains that provide that.
Now of course for most grows you are going to have some amber trichs when the plant is reaching maturity if those strains show amber at all, but you don't want to "wait for 10-20%" if your plant has already reached peak harvest time.

wait... Tric's 90% cloudy/milky [check] and the white hairs receded ... Close, 2 weeks... Good Luck!!
