yep MG haha, it should have nutes for the 1st month or so, then I'll switch to hydro nutes mixed in water thereafter. Vegging?? good question haha!! Prob 16 to 20 days? I need short plants as they are in my bath tub so I hope that will work??
As long as they get there light and dark period I'm sure it will work.

forgive me If you already said it, which i'm sure you probably have, but what strain are you doing this with, more importantly, what is its flowering time? I'm gonna be starting a 12/12 from seed vertical with some nameless pure indica's, hence my interest in this little experiment... :blsmoke:

There an unkown strain aswell, probably a indica/sativa hybrid. They should take around 55-60 days to flower, I had a friend that grew them out and they didn't take to long. I guess we will find out within the next few months!! :)

Home Depot is where I got my CFL's from then I was shopping at Lowes for something else and stumbled upon there light selection and found there CFL selection nicer. Home Depot in my area only had 5000k and 2700k CFL's but the Lowes had 6500k and 2700k. Home Depot was 2 5000k (Daylight bulbs is what they said on package but they were only 5000k) for 5 bucks and 4 x 2700k for 10 bucks, Lowes had 4 x 6500k for roughly 11 bucks and 6 x 2700k for roughly 10 bucks. All bulbs at Home Depot were 27w and Lowes were 26w was the only big difference in the bulbs.

Yeah they are clones from a few of my mothers.. big bud x grand daddy purps and the purps

Lookin good!!! gettin the max amount of soil ya can in there huh? I would have done the same thing... it settles and how much water does a party cup really need. I have two tiny plants in party cups right now also. they were clones i couldn't use from months ago and they were in the dark for almost a month getting about 20 minutes of room light a day. a couple weeks ago when i saw your thread, i thought screw it why not... i put them in the flower box and the one is only about 4-5" tall but it is growing one bud from top to bottom, I won't get shit off it but it is fun to watch it grow.....

Keep em green!

I understand how to prevent stretching to keep shorter node lengths, but my question is WHY? Is it just a means to control height in indoor grows, does it help the plant bud better, or perhaps both? Everyone says don't let my plants stretch but I would like to know the reasoning behind it. Sorry for the newb ignorance.

BTW, they look good Smelly. You've inspired me to tackle a side experiment, just not sure when or what yet.

i just copied and pasted.........peace

Cannabis plant stretch is a problem primarily in indoor marijuana grows because it may reduce yields in some marijuana strains.
Stretch produces tall lanky marijuana plants with possibly weak and spindly stems.
The weight of marijuana buds during marijuana flower will require staking or roping to avoid damage, falling over or even snapping off.
Marijuana plant stretch may be a problem for weed growers with limited ceiling height in their grow tent.
Stretched cannabis plants are tall and their lower marijuana bud sites receive less light than the top cannabis colas.

So, If I took one of those party cups, punched it full of 1/2 inch holes and put it in my F&D, would that count?

Haha, you know it! Packed them in there pretty good lol.. If I would have put them into bigger pots I would have barried the stem but I also wanted the extra little bit of room I have for root space in these tiny cups :)

yikes at the far right, super stretch
Yea she is, The other two where actually pretty short and bushy but all of them needed stakes after the transplant because there wasn't much room to work with and like I said above I needed space. I have a feeling there going to be some nice little buds though..

Thanks SD.

I figure as long as you stake them and have the extra room your fine. If your growing under cfl's the shorter and more compact your grow, the ,easier it is to surround the buds with close cfl's.

Thanks for stopping in and voting RR, I'm feeling pretty confident I can get around 10g's. 15 would suprise me but I know its possible :)

Kind of defeats the purpose but I'm sure it would do well if done right!

im sure you'll make that stretch into a strapping lass.

so i've revised my plan again and technically i wont be eligible for this thread.

i have two five gallon smart pots left over and ive found a way to fit them in.

so i have 4 plants currently, each in her own pot. im going to top all 4 and put 2 cuttings to a pot.

some may call me crazy, but ill make the kill

I don't blame you, "angry midget" in my current grow was supposed to be in a party cup but I transplanted her and I'm glad I did now lol. Here she is about a week away from harvest, most of you have probably seen her..:leaf:
