Smell...How Strong?

My girls are already "skunky" smelling. Since I haven't grown in years I forgot how strong they will get odor wise.

Real strong? Neighbors can smell it strong?

I don't have a good way to vent it right now even though I have a Phresh filter so I will probably grow these girls with a "door open" grow space and continue with 3 fans to ventilate and blow the air around into my garage.

I live in California and I am growing to treat medical conditions for my wife and I so I am not too concerned about the neighbors. We have to listen to their kid cry a lot...LOL.
Anyway...it's relatively dense housing here and we share a wall with our neighbors. They are cool I think but we are absolutely legal.

Just want to get an idea what I am in for.

They are gonna stink. Especially during the last 3 weeks of flower. Some strains have a stronger smell than others. For example, Skunk #1 stinks like a fuck, but NL is not strong at all. What strains are you running?

Northern Lights and Fast & Vast, all autos.

They are gonna stink, just not "as bad" as some of the other strains out there. You will need a carbon filer at least. An ozone genny will help too.
I may put them on the balcony if it gets too strong. We usually have a good breeze blowing except at night.

Some grows I can smell as I put my key in the door. Others are nearly odor free all the way. Depends on strain and the time of year. The most important thing to remember is you will grow desensitized to the smell as it grows stronger. But a visitor will likely notice it. Take advance action.

Yeah you should be fine with the norther lights, i have 2 of those going at day 70 and they have barely any smell.

I put a booster inline fan at the intake of my space. I'm testing it now. So far it seems to be doing well in keeping the temps down. I may get to use the carbon filter afterall. This fan is helping my Vortex 172 since the Vortex has to pull Air through about 15 to 20 feet of 4" soft flexible ducting with a few turns in it.

It really depends on strain somewhat but mostly the environment. No stress no stank, keep the heat down and keep from rupturing trichome heads
Ive never used a carbon filter, live in tx (illegal) and my landlord and inlaws loved to show up unannounced.. that was pulling a half lb a week running serious dank
I typically grow landrace Sativa's. But that's not all I grow, my last harvest was 60 plants. Blueberry x chemdawg, that crossed with master kush, cheese, and some cat piss haze thing.. Other rotation was a ton of alien crosses. Aliens on crack, alien nightmare, alien x train wreck, alien x deep purple..
I'm talking massive amounts of dank in my bedroom... No smell at all unless I touch them or otherwise rupture a trichrome head..

So strain aside, stressing your plants will increase odour ?

That's bad advice my friend. It actually goes (No stress = Stinky nugs, Trust me) unless your talking about stress training which can increase final yield but won't increase smell or strength of you crop.
If it's supposed to stink it will if it not it won't. Other than that qwizoking got it right.

Peace.

Agreed ^^... Some genetics are less stinky then others, thats it.

Nothern lights are the least smelliest strain ive ever grown, the buds look amazing but i can barely smell them. I dont mind that at all either. The way they smell, the way they grow, NL autos have become my favorite strain.

I grow a BB X NL for just that reason. Smell. ( and BB is my fave anyway )
My plants even in end flower, smells like scented berry candles.
No odor control necessary.

Harvesting is any matter...but I just burn toast all day. Fried chicken is another good smell cover.
