SMELL HELP +rep.

Hi Everyone,

Got a humboldt which was a free seed and really stinking in Veg. Signs of good things to come im sure but was looking at some Ona Gel.

Grow organic in soil with 400w HPS in a cupboard in a room. Got an ionizer in the grow cupboard but thinking about some Ona Gel to catch the escaping smell?

How long does a 1l pot of Ona Gel last? and any way to make it last longer?
Is it literally un screw the lid and leave it near exhaust area?

Open to other suggestions and yes I know carbon filter would be ideal but I can't do that at the moment.

If money is the issue for not getting a carbon filter, you could look into a Do it yourself carbon filter. Just a thought.

never used it but if its like odor blocks for storage units you can poke a few small holes in the safety seal so its exposure to air is more limited, maybe drill small holes in lid even and use duct tape as a seal if needed, ionized air blown on plants will kill the leaves, also ionized air will kill adult funus nats, if you come up with a 100$ you can get a 4" fan filter combo from Virtual Sun hydroponics on line

Is down to money for carbon filter and fact is would have to duct to my loft an cut a circle in cupboard ceiling so alot of effort in a rented property!
Seen really good deal and will get one when sell this grow. Think for now the ONA GEL may be a winner...

May dilute with water also or cat litter like link with the bucket.

hell for cost of a few blocks of the una you can make your own carbon scrubber and use a duct fan from supplies at lowes

UK my friend. We don't get stuff anywhere near as cheap as you guys in the states!
Think mainly coz left grow room door open all day mainly why i recognized it today.
Gonna see how tomorrow goes.

Get some incense. should be cheap there given all the incense burning foreigners about.....You might not even have to light it.

If you have the money buy a carbon filter. If you are low on funds buy some Ona gel and build the DIY Ona Odor Bucket google it !

Yeah man did see the link someone else posted in here. Looks a winner! Gonna get 1l of Ona Gel by looks of it then. Says 30days use approx and to slow down just poke couple holes in the top rather then take off whole lid.

Ona Gel works, also I put a scented candle on a candle warmer in my grow room. You can pick up a candle warmer for a couple bucks at a Bed Bath & Beyond or similar store. This really helps mask the smell. Especially if its a cinnamon flavor or something really pungent.

One Gel seems to be the 'standard' alternative and next best thing to a Carbon Filter.
I think leaving door open all day had big effect.
Shut grow door and bedroom door and back to normal.
Will buy ona gel and then when starts to leak from the grow cupboard into the bedroom that will kill it there and then and stop it going anywhere else. Also leave the bedroom window open a lot get loads fresh air helps.

put a small air purifier in the room the closets in next to the door as added protection, something that ionizes the air or has a a uv light in it

Only 4 man! which one of which is a northern lights in veg, and 2 pineapple express in veg. The pinapples are autos though and northern lights dont smell. Not getting the smell off none of em apart from this humboldt! Got an ionizer in the room the grow cupboard is in. Gonna get some Ona and a fabreeze plug in. Flipped the humboldt to 12/12 today to start flowering. Bloody gonna be tall i tell ya!

dont allow the air purifier to blow on your plants it will kill the leaf tissue which is why i said out side the closet

so i notice that you haven given rep to anyone who has posted, all were good suggestions, maybe you should have left that out in your original post

X2 I got my carbon filter off ebay. 6inch with prefilter was 68 to my door. lowes has 6inch duct work and the inline fan was around 70. I have my flower room set up in closet along with a veg tent in the room that i run autos in . with my set up and venting into the next room I get no smell in my house. makes it real nice. I have friends that stop over who burn that can not smell my set up and think the bud i get is from some place else

works perfect for my set up
