I understand money issues, but when you get some hold enough back for next year and think about not having to dig holes.

yay i just got some birthday money, I'm thinking about buying 4 fifteen gallon smart pots. I am hoping it is worth the investment and has a significant better yield. I am thinking i could dig a whole a put them in it, since they're going to increase my plants by like 2 feet or what ever

They must have heard ya. I just bought some 5-gallon ones with handles. They work great. Well worth the $. We bought a 200 gallon one for veggies and herbs and it didn't last too long with that much dirt in them. One tap from the edge of the mower and it split near the seam. The smaller sizes work great though and the handles are a good addition.
I have 4 of each size up to 5 gallons except for the 3.5 gallon size. Personally I feel that the smallest ones are too small for seedlings (they might dry out too quickly or give the roots enough room to grow before they get pruned). I think that using the 0.8 Gal Air Pot, 5.9 x 6.3" airpots are the perfect fit for seeds until you need to transplant them into a bigger pot such as the 2 g or 5 gallon pots.
Although what I did personally was I put seeds in red party cups and I grew them in a PC grow box (with four 24w CFLs) for 12 days then I transplanted some into .8 gallon air pots and some into 2 gallon air pots. They have been in my tent with a 400w HPS for 17 days and so far I've only been adding water to the Ocean Forest/perlite mix and those plants have been doubling in size every 4 days with these air pots. I would say if you go party cup to .8 gallon you wouldn't need to worry about transplanting again for about 10-14 days depending on the strain.
