You are full of it. What ET strains have you grown?
he isn't the first person to say this, heard about this a year back, i guess their reg seeds are more popular since that died down same issues with nirvana/bf/Greenhouse, full blown males in packs of fems. curious though since i've heard alot of good about grapefruit krush, the main strain i wanted to try of theirs.

Full blown males aren't herms dude. The reports of the males from fems were all Attitude freebies, which Attitude handles opening packs and separating the beans. I think that makes it pretty obvious that attitude fucked up and mixed regs. And a year ago the only grows online of ET shit was mine.

oh, that makes sense then, i stand corrected. their stuff looks/sounds good so some day i'll give them a go.

I loved Emerald Triangle's Bubba '76. I got their regs but 4/4 seeds were female. They produced 2 uniform phenos, each leaning towards each parent. Rock hard, frosty, and good tasting nugs. Great indica strain. I want to try their Blueberry Headband, i've heard good things.

8 miles high - mandala seeds $35 it was the first real high i had since the 80s when i sampled some before trying to clone it without accounting for nodes. it wasn't the most potent bud i smoked, but it hada perfectly energy neutral mellow fun seeking buzz that seemed to improve body control. very classy buzz that's noob friendly and just right for almost any occasion whether it be activities or relaxing. i can't wait to get it again

haze x skunk
- high quality seeds $28 x 11. nicely potent strain. long lasting buzz, low tolerance dropoff. some psychoactivity. stone that's never worse than heavy eyelids but totally motivational, great for tuning pain and hunger out, got me off beer, has an annoying cheesy cigar wrapper taste that's less disgusting than licorice durban poison, truck stop tasting diesels, cat piss or even sickeningly sweet lavender. people who smoke blunts would love it's flavor in a bowl. other strains are trippier or better tasting maybe, but for getting the job done like an AK47 for getting high, i'd put this strain up against outdoor grown columbian gold which would turn stony after a month where haze skunk is still getting you as high as you dare go with the same room spinning dizzy beatdown if you overdo it.

jack's cleaner 2 - TGA subcool $30 x 3 it had a stony edge to it, but the buzz was warm and euphoric with fun touchy feely effects. when i imagined invisible tie dye ripples of color where i touched my arms and chest i laughed my ass of at such a strange trippy effect. if you feel like you're light and floating on columbian gold, you feel like a chameleon or something on JC2. i'm hoping sannie's jack f7 is even better, but for now JC2 is my favorite. jack the ripper is probably less stony and more intense

sweet haze - DNA $10 a fucking BARGAIN! this strain kicked a bunch of other similar fruity jack's, thai's and haze's asses in overall quality by being fruitier, stickier, more potent and especially nicely trippy where hazes don't live up to the hype much anymore. as potent as haze skunk is, it's HQS thai skunk sibling just wasn't as nice as sweet haze either. as far as fruity trippy hazes go, i haven't tried better yet and $10 to fill your garden up with that is cheap! i just ordered another for breeding and might order some regulars to use a male of this for breeding too. it shines with it's attention to detail in every department. it's a lower yielding stretchy strain, but takes just 9 weeks and would kick ass in a SCROG where quality is top priority

sativa trans love - john sinclair was one of the best freebies i ever got. it smoked very similarly to more average than sweet haze hazes, but started out it's budding like it was on fast forward. it's not the shortest flowering strain, but if you want some fruity haze bud when some strains are just getting into flowering for an early harvest, this strain just starts budding as soon as you flip it. combined with an even faster finishing strain, it could be very productive i think. i bought a $50 pack for further testing at the very least

lemon skunk - DNA genetics another surprising freebie. i'm not impressed with skunk #1, but again, this strain has attention to detail with better flavor, a less stony high and that nice golden glow that makes the plant look sexy too. very high quality breeding on the free. you can't get any more bargain than that, and i intend to buy at $10, i think, fem again because it was such high quality it's a no brainer to use in a lemon breeding program

jack - CH9 seeds ($7.33) possibly a freebie when i originally got it, but i just bought another as well as it's jack 33 sibling as it impressed me for it's potential in breeding at the very least. i was pre-disposed to not like the plant just for looking like a straight up indica, but it was low odor, not particularly stony and i think a little better overall than most of the other jacks and hazes except sweet haze. it had a bit of stone to it, but stayed functional and it was pretty potent from what i remember. it just got overshadowed by sweet haze i think. it also had huge seed pods which might have contributed to resin production. if nothing else, it's a good fast flowering strain to make stretchy IBLs more compact without the skunk and stone of aghanis and possibly with some psychoactivity of it's own. i'm sure i'll at least get my $8 back in smoke, but this strain should really appeal to cash croppers and anyone looking into super silver hazes. the freedom from stone impressed me anyways. if you could go back in time and substitute this for afghani in all of the original building block strains, everyone would still be smoking at least some old school.

sour cream - DNA genetics - a freebie i think, but even as a fem, would call it a bargain. it's buzz that's on the stoney side of mid is not a favorite, but most people would tolerate it better than me and med users would love it, but that sweet cream cheese flavor is just too much. it's one of the sexiest smelling and tasting strains i've ever grown or scored. if i had to smoke an indica, it would be this. i'm trying to see if i can pass the flavor on using strains with more motivation and have already made a cross with a cinderella apollo male. blueberry might be the most popular strain in the world, but sour cream tastes much nicer to me with a buzz that's similarly stoney. $11 is a bargain for a true gourmet authentic tasting strain. it's called sour cream, but i keep thinking cream cheese with hints of sweet fruit, almost like a cheesecake and nothing like the funky cheese notes in haze skunk. i picture this crossed with sour cherry buddha's sister as being a perfect pairing with the sweet cream balancing the tart cherry flavor. it might be even stonier, but the flavor would be crazy. it's already been crossed with chocolate chunk i think. it's a natural pairing anyways. lemon cream sounds nice too.

Thank you.

Mr. Nice is one of the best known seedbanks, and his strains aren't particularly inexpensive (though he typically does give you 15 per pack). I'm not saying they're not worth the money, but pretty clearly, this is a case of getting what you pay for.

Sannie seeds are more along the lines of what I was asking about here. $30 will buy you some pretty awesome strains from his shop, as good as stuff 2-3x the cost elsewhere.

Again, the question is about INEXPENSIVE strains that turned out to be UNEXPECTEDLY good.

Maybe I should rephrase the question: What great strains can be had for $40 or less? What little-publicized strains from smaller/lesser known breeders are actually great, yet inexpensive?
Depending on your taste you will find a lot of dank for that price. Check sannies out pretty much all is good there and plenty of seeds for cheap

I'm glad to see this thread, there are many 'diamonds in the rough' out there. I've grown good buds from almost all of the "cheapies" out there... G13 Labs, Nirvana Seeds, Greenhouse, etc.

I can't vouch for Nirvana's customer service, as I always order from The Attitude... but I have grown all of those Nirvana strains (besides their Short Ryder and their Super Skunk) with great success. The Ak48 produced some of the most unique smelling/tasting buds I've ever seen; Northern Light (from Nirvana) is the only Sativa dominant NL I've come across (even though they claim it's a "pure indica"), it stays relatively short but throws some amazing buds & vigor when cloned and grown outside.. I don't know if the cloning caused any of that but it appeared very dark/indica dominant before I rooted cuttings.

My favorite cheap(er) seeds:
G13 Labs: Blueberry Gum, Auto Northern Lights (I hate autos but she was a freeby and turned out sufficient)
Nirvana Seeds: Northern Light, AURORA INDICA (awesome), Ak48
Greenhouse Seed Co.: Kalashnikova, White Widow (whether it's the original or not, it's still good), any Haze
Dutch Passion: Blueberry

Don't underestimate a strain because of it's price..
Nirvana, Barney's Farm, Greenhouse, CH9, Emerald Triangle, Dutch Passion, Bomb Seeds, World of Seeds and more offer great strains for reasonable prices.

I'm not totally sure what companies count as "cheap" seeds because they're all pretty cheap (besides The Doggie's Nuts ridiculous prices) considering how much you get out of them and how much it would cost you to buy the same amount of weed on the street. I don't mind paying 15-25 dollars per seed for good genetics. Most breeders aren't out there breeding seeds specifically to respond well inside tiny tents hidden in closets, I used to keep a couple mothers (of various strains) inside and cut clones, root them and then transplant them directly outside... almost all of them grow exquisitely outdoors. Growing good buds has a LOT to do with your environment, if you run into a whole lot of strains that don't please you then it's most likely your growing method (some strains are more hardy than others, making a less hardy strain appear inferior when it's not grown in the correct environment because the hardier strains appear healthy.. but imagine both strains grown in the ideal setting.)

'Poistronics' mayday express auto, Great strain real cheap its not potent. Done in 60 days small yield half OZ (with no ferts completely organic soil + water + sun) wanted to see what would happen if i planted it and there was no human intervention. But the description was spot on. they say that it is what it is very mild.. I found it to be extremely open perfect for those times you want to toke but know its probably not a good time too. LOL really though smoke this the night before a final and cram like you haven't crammed before it puts you in the zone!

Also good for fishing puts you in zen mode like I said this strain puts you in the zone, hadn't caught so many bass in one outing in a while. Not like anything I smoke usually around here just pure stony indicas, the rare sativa that catches you off guard and gets the whole group speaking in tongue. But this was like a low thc mix between sativa and indica perfect for the people who want to be able to smoke a nice joint to their face without losing a sense of reality.

Another good one is Orange Kush got a clone off a buddy a couple years ago grew it outdoor so much resin off this baby it was stupid like touch the bud and your fingers were black. Sadly police found it and chopped it in half taking off the upper half, nice enough to leave a business card on the lower half. Incase i felt the need to turn myself in or something lol maybe pick the bud up that they were drying for me.. I dunno anyways harvested the lower branches and got 10g dry shame cause she was so sexy before. Anyways that smoke was top notch smoked a joint with a few friends and we all just got faded!

GHS "The Church" was inexpensive, and is very good weed with the most unique floral smell and taste I have ever encountered. Also Peak Seeds "Northern Skunk" was pretty cheap and is absolutely killer weed with sick resin production.

It's funny with the mayday its perfect for anti anxiety which I have and the high is light and comforting its a change from any weed thats going around now if you like pure rocket high thc levels don't waste your time and cuss me out. But for those who like to maybe just enhance their day with out getting fucked up this is your strain for sure. Funny thing is I harvested a gram early when the trichs were mainly all clear with a random amber here and there maybe like 10% amber dried the bud and smoked it with a buddy who blazes like he's training for an olympic smoke off. And I spun and he was fucked up himself like we were gonna go fishing and we blazed it and for 4 hrs we ended up just paddling forgot why we even were on the lake. But then a few weeks later harvested with mainly amber trichs and the bud was so mild once cured it felt like a complete different plant.

like one poster said, get sannies' gear. a lot of it is dirt cheap and it's ALL high quality according to sannie's fans. there's a bunch of strains there under $30. i have my eye on lemon thai and columbian jamaican, though his "expensive" $50 jack f7 is what i really want if $50 could even be called that. $50 is entry level pricing. there's a lot of great stuff in the $50 range

I can't vouch for sleepiness as they're still growing, but mandala's safari mix is a successful batch of seeds - they germinate and grow vigorously if you follow mandala's instructions. my monsoon hit unexpectedly and i lost most of them, but the two that are growing are very very nice, we'll have to see after the buds start. very indica like leaves so i'm GUESSING it's gonna be more stony...but that's not always the case at all...

and why not mr.nice, he has the walkabout, dreamtime, and SHIT all around the forty dollar mark. walkabout is another successful batch of seeds. will see how they grow out.

although i don't know how good the weed is going to be, for a lot of first time growers (who almost always look for cheap good seeds) the major worry is whether or not the seeds will even germinate, after that they can tackle things as they come from there. Yes mandala's safari mix is viable, as well as mr.nice walkabout. While the way the mandala's growing i do'nt think it will hermy, but you can never really tell...haven't heard about hermies from regular seeds though, not unless they're really stressed.

I always hear good things about Peakseedsbc. They're dirt cheap but the varieties, or at least the parent plants of their varieties, are pretty well known.

Nothing good for $40. You get what you pay for. The ones I mentioned run $45-$55.
Peakseedsbc is less than 40 a pack and by all report incredible.

A number of varieties on Sannies shop are sub 40 dollars and are widely regarded as incredible. I'm pretty sure you can find Shit from MNS for under 40 dollars and people have had great luck with that variety as well.
