Ok. I'm trying to figure out how wide I should make my mother chamber the picture below shows the mother chamber at 10" wide. Is that enough or could I go smaller? I know I would have to bonsai my mothers, would it be worth it for the extra space in the flowering chamber?

Have some pics on what the top chamber is going to look like once I start cutting the cabinet up. Sorry bout the crappy hand writing if you can read it.

I know you are not going to want to hear this, but for a mother plant, you are going to want at least 16" square. Were you planning on running the lights down the sides in the mom chamber or hanging some CFL's?

suggestion or idea to ponder... drop that top shelf 11" and make that nursery 22" high and the flower room 4' and do away with those 10" chambers. Those are kind of too small to do anything. The nursery with 2' flouros across the top allow a 10" x 20" propagator tray and dome and leaves about 18"w x 16"L x 22"h for your mom plant. If you are not propagating at the time, the top can be used for mother and some vegging.

just an idea. Good luck and happy grows.

I like it :) I have been researching how to build a grow box or two.... I'm looking for something to house two mother plants, and clones in one plastic tray with drip watering system. For flowering I would like to be able to house atleast 4 plants under a 400w hps son agro bulb.Any ideas are appreciated.

Why don't you round up or down on your dimensions so you don't have fractional measurements, just to make it easier. Idk, my two cents.

Changed the setup a little bit. Made room for a better perpetual grow.

I don't mean to be critical, and I know you really might not believe that, but I'm trying to be helpful, for real. That space of 10" is tiny and you are going to have to supply lighting for 3 separate chambers. There is no standard flouros to fit those sizes, so you'll only have CFLs to consider for those small spaces. If you are going to keep the 10" wide spaces regardless, give the mother area the taller space. The clones won't need 2'4". Because of your design, you have too many areas that also won't get proper air circulation. The area up top is perfect for cloning, vegging and keeping a mom. Good luck with your project, looking forward to seeing it come to fruition.

That 2'4" chamber is for the veg not for the propagation of clones. I did plan on using just cfl's for those areas and all ready have an idea for the air flow. I was going to leave a gap at the back of the chambers in their floors... probably about inch or two. Then just have the air sucked through by the main carbon filter. Ill get a diagram of it later tonight.
