single cola plants?

Yeh,I'd chop off any branches,if heights an issue don't veg for too long,basicly it will get to 3 times the height during flowering-best of luck.

Some close ups of equipment and the best 3 plants. More seeds germinating in order to replace males after sexing. Will continue until 20 plant limit is reached. Should be sufficient for this experiment.

Hope this helps someone. Seems like plant abuse to deflower em' at such an early age. But it gives me time to update my hydro setup.

I'm gonna keep posting pics of my experiment but it doesn't seem as though anyone is interested. I'm actually getting very surprising results. All plants have been 12/12'd since seeds. Yet it takes 17-20 days so sex them after they sprout. But in that 17 days they get about 10 inches tall. More than I exprected. Right now I have 6 females with the two tallest at 13 1/4 inches. I have 30 more to sex. Hopeing for a 25 females count in total but who knows. Good bud growth. I'm guessing an oz and a half or so. Well, I hope someone is enjoying this thread. Ignore the dates in some of my pics, i forgot to set the date so...

Well, so far it seems we can fairly say if you do 12/12 from seed it takes 17-20 days to sex the plant. I sexed 3 more females and one male bringing the total count to 9 females. Average so far of about 9 inches at sexing. Some strains have little branch growth at sexing while one had 2 3/4 in. lower branches at sexing. Can say then; That 12/12 light cycles from seed don't "trigger" a "single cola only" plant. It seems some strains just mature differently than others but some still require small amounts of pruning of lower branches.

I have decided to tie a set of lower branches to the main stalk in order to see if leaving them on the plant actually decreases the main cola's weight.

I'll take some more pics now that I have my internet up again. Thanks for the interest man. I keep a encrypted journal anyway so it doesn't take much to post a quick blog.

i need this thread for support! I in middle of first grow and am doing the same thing you are doing. I boggled a plant inot life from a seed a nd went to 12 and 12 prety much right away. as soon as i leatned there was such thing as a light cycle. lol, i was he nub of nubs. i even bought a 30 dollar light panel. i now read this site every day non stop lol. i grow info addict. now i got a 400 hps 4x4x6.5 tent, vented hood and a veg cab. any way i made 5 succeful clones in flower and they went 2 to 12 and 12 again and 2 to veg 24/0. these clones are doing awesome. the 12/12 clone are as big as the mother and the veggers are thick, they gonna be future donators for either a 10 site aero i built or a 3x3 ebb sustem i might buy. the aero pump comes todau and of it good enuf they go aero and if not its a ebb system. i totally forgot bout using 2 liter bottles as pots, they better in ebb tray i think than the square pots. more space usage. ty! i using cfls and only 2 for veg so far and am settling on a big cfl, those ones that = 500 watt 9k lumens on ebay, unless thye are bunk. i will keep a mother N.L. and 15 clones in veg can to root them. thenthey go to system. i dont know to veg or 12/12 right away, i looking at these generic eed clone i have to work with until my nl gets here next week. i will post them in my next post i gotta switch comps. mna smell killing me! i gotta diy!> P.s my big girl i pollinated thinking it was the best idea in the long run for a first grow. i then realised how easy cloning is in dwc cloner i diyd. To lollipo i cut all the side branchs and left the fan leaves. pics coming dotn laugh.

Nice little grow you got there. Not bad for a nub. I do a similar hydro setup normally but I use 2 tubs and 12 plants a tub. You might want to look into a SOG setup. Didn't really understand; but it sounded like you flowered your mother to know her sex and then reverted her back to veg and took clones? Not positive but I've read that will decrease the yeilds of your clones due to a hormonal imbalance in the reverted clone and mother. Might want to read up a little. I think it was on this site somewhere.

I know the 2 liters make it seem sorta like a budget grow but i just didn't want to but 50 contaners. Also I'm only using bagseed for this experiment. Not abusing my widow strain like this.

New pics are of today. Tried to get some good close ups of plants recently sexed. 10 females total today. 27 left to be sexed. So should be close to the 25 female goal. Tallest female is not one week 3 days into flower and is 14 inches high. Lots of white hairs and bud starting to grow together. Enjoy...

Looking great, this should be a good experiment. I'd be interested in seeing a single cola grow next to a sog grow with topping, and tieing! What really produces more, one cola or many?

Place your plants in shade to get 1 stickers. I have a few sticks in fairly dark shade at all times, entire grow, outside.

Near last few weeks of flowering though they start to get some arms and legs (think of human stick figure)...that's how mine turned out.

They finish flowering quicker I noticed.

the first sprout went in the flower room on sept 1st. Most the pictures have acurate dates on them. I'm gonna have to stake them before much bud develops or the wait will prove to much I fear. The definitly surprised me by how tall they have gotten. I use Grandma's Molasses which has really thicked the stems nicely. I use it every grow 2 tbspn/per gal. It's only about 3 bucks and makes the buds chunkier in my opinion.

Farthest-Along female starting to flower. Though to take close-ups with my camera(sorry). She is 32 days old from sprouting and 10 days since sexing. LOTS OF HAIRS!
