Well it is my first grow, but I have one plant that I started flowering after about 3 weeks. She is petite but beautiful, next time I will wait 4 weeks or so before flowering. Check my pics out in my photo album. I am expecting about 1/4 oz. from her.

that 400watt MH is really close to those plants. I don't know if MH is cooler than HPS or something, but i'm betting you just need to raise that 400w up. I don't think it will slow or hurt or do anytihng negative to your plants because that 400w is so powerful compared to your area. It's a simple fix. Make sure plants don't break 86degrees. I keep coming up with the number of 75w per square foot. Light diminishes at a rate of 50% for every one foot. So if your light was raised exactly 12", it would be pounding 200w onto the top of your plants. 2 ft would be 100w. I'd do the math and figure out EXACTLY how high the light needs to be for 75w/square foot, but i'm lazy. 3 ft would be 50w.

If you throw fans DIRECTLY underneath it, powerful ones, you could cool it better. Or get tempered glass upgrade and run ducting to and from your light with a flan blowing through.

thanx specialist...this is my 1st grow..feel like there growing sloowww...is 84 degrees to hot??

Kinda off topic. But it being your first, i thought I'd impart a bit of advise. Remember, these plants got along just fine without our help. And as long as you start with decent soil, and don't over fertilize or water, tour plants will do just fine on their own. You will read about the "symptoms" of this deficiency or that, and thats a good thing to know, but it doesn't mean that you need to start "LOOKING" for problems. They seem to be fairly forgiving, and will generally do fine in less than optimal conditions. Over feeding (nute burn) and overwatering will kill them quick, other than that, it's all good. Most other problems arise gradually, and you'll have time to come here for an answer.

And yes, they will AT LEAST double in size, count on triple. My first grow I started 12/12 at 2', and ended up with a 6' "bent over/tied down" plant that yeilded about a QP of really good bud. If I hadn't been so over attentive, I'm sure I'd have gotten more.

Relax, watch them grow. Then enjoy.

400watt hid at 12" from plant..... 5-7000 lumens per sq foot is what you want,..... what do you mean by 75 watt per sq ft... math dosent tell you how far away to keep your light
