Silica and oxygen absorber gel pks for storing in jars

So a friend here told me about silica pks after burping to keep your meds fresh during storage. I went a step further and looked up oxygen absorber pks also. I was thinking one of each cause the oxygen packs keep the oxygen out which we all know breaks down organic matter so I thought it would be a cool idea. I found the FDA approved kind on eBay from a guy named silicadesiccants who has a 100% rating and offers free shipping. Any input would be appreciated. I made sure they were the ones for food not the ones in shoes lol. Let me know what u guys think.

I bought some of them from ebay a few weeks ago they are working great and as they are for use in food products you dont have to worry about being poisoned lol

WTF? I always wondered why they were in shoe boxes...Are shoes extra susceptible to mold?

haha ya if it a humid store room the shoes grow mold in them the silica packs suck the oxygen out of the shoe box reducing the humidity there fore no mold

SILICA PACKS ARE NOT OXYGEN ABSORBERS THEY ARE WATER ABSORBERS OXYGEN ABSORBERS ARE MADE FROM IRON OXIDE i HAVE BEEN THINKING OF TRYING THEM ALONG
WITH THE BOVEDA 62 PERCENT HUMIDITY PACKS WHICH IS WHAT YOU WANT FOR KEEPING YOUR BUDS PERFECT DURING STORAGE.

would pumping in a small amount of c02 into the jars work as well? assuming one might have a c02 setup.

I use those bovida packs with my cigars when I take a small amount anywhere. They even make larger ones that you could use for bigger storage containers.

Do the iron oxide oxygen absorbers put off any smell/chemical that would affect the bud?

I don't see why that would help. All you're trying to do in curing is dry it out and allow the chlorophyll to degrade. I always call those little silica gel packets "snack packs" since obviously, some dumb ass somewhere has eaten one and gotten poisoned.

I already vacuum seal mine and haven't had any issues but I also dry a little longer than optimal. A combination of vacuum seal and oxygen absorber might let me hit a higher humidity level. I think I'll try it out.

CVAULT works great and they use Boveda 62% packs. I use the Boveda 62% packs in Qt. jars to cure my harvest. Up yo 60 days THEY tell me. No burping jars anymore. YUP!!
