Sick plants HELP!!(no clue, possibly two kinds of deficiencies?)

So, a few days ago, my plants started getting burnt on the tips of the leaves, I didn't think much of it, but it has been getting worse and worse.

I have been using nutrients very sparingly (stock AG nutrient tabs in half tab doses).

My pH is around 6.0

Have been using nothing but pH adjusted Ozarka spring water.

I flushed my res and put new water in a few days ago, and they haven't really started looking any better.

Does this mean they NEED nutes? or is this really bad nute burn?

I popped a half of a tab into my res, and I got a red blinking "ADD NUTRIENT" and "CHANGE WATER" light, so I freaked out and flushed my res asap and put a lower concentration of nutes in.

Could it be that my CFL is too close? its about 3-4" inches away from the plant.

I have been trying to ride this out like previous problems, but it just looks like its getting worse.

My roots look nice and healthy though.

Also, my plants were planted 1/28 and 1/31 so they are roughly 2.5 weeks old.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

have you already began fertilizing those baby's??
you defenatly shouldnt!!! u wanna wait till they already got alot of roots and a bunch more leaves...
if you wanna give them anything, give them a root stimulator that doesnt have an npk.... just a simple good root stimulator (with an antistress agent in it if you can find..)`
and i always start with my light about half a meter away and bring it down over the next 8 days..
if you went from seed... it happens that the seed itself isnt so great anymore... i grew buddha sister once that looked like salad for the few month but as time passed it started to look nicer and nicer to end up like a proper cannabis plant and not your good ol iceberg lettuce ...

anyway good luck with those ....
peace out

Yea at like 2 weeks I gave them 1/3 of a nutrient supplement.

Thanks for the quick response..

so you think this is really bad nute burn?

I really don't think thats what the problem is.

Because my older plant looks worse.

My roots are about 10" long, girth out of water makes them about 1/3" thick. (not each strand, the entire root structure)

Wow, I checked the pH of my reservoir and it was ~6.5.

I added 3 drops of pH down, hopefully that will drop the pH in a few hours and I can add 2 more drops.

Yeah mate, I would do a complete res change and drop the ph to 5.4. Let it climb back to no more then 5.8 Check the ph 2 times a day at least, until it stabilizes. I check mine twice a day regardless, been down that road ....
Maintain the Ph @5.6+- When you add nutes, no more then 300-400ppm (.7 conv.) until they look healthy.

you gave seedlings fertilizer... and your ph is at 6.5 for a hydro set up ....
ideally you shouldnt fertilize..... and your ph should start at 5.5-5.7 and slowly go up as it goes further into the flowzering phaxe to 6.5 at max......
im 97%sure its nute burn and your ph is too high .....
im sure youll eventually figure it out though :)
peace out man!!

Well, first off, the pH of 6.5 was an accident.

Secondly, I didn't think having 2 sets of nodes coming off my main stem lumps my plant into the 'seedling' catagory.

That looks like it was the sole problem.

pH is at 5.8 now and I gave my plants a little haircut yesterday and they look extremely happy and healthy now.

awsome ..... thats what you wanted right....
and what would you call your plants if they arent seedlings at this point??? clones?? babys... plants...
i guess i just got use to saying clones for when they havent rooted yet... seedlings once they are vegging and flowering marijuana when its flowering...(but hey no one said i was a scientist) so as long as the bud grows and people around love to smoke it ...
call it whatever you want at whatever stage... itll still end up in a pipe at the end of the day..
peace out
