shrivled up instantly!

ok so i successfully rooted my first clone. this is how i dd it and what happened.

i cut dipped and placed in mini rockwool cubes. then placed in clear 12oz party cups with plastic sandwich bags over the tops to create high humidity. finally two of the cuttings show roots coming from the bottom of the rockwool so i figure sweet i can take the baggies off and start vegging these bad girls.

so thats what i do take the baggies off and literally ten min later they were completely shriveled up. im guessing it was from the drastic and immediate change in humidity. they went from 90-95 percent humidity to 35 percent as soon as i tok the baggies off.

if this is why they shriveled up instantly does anybody have a solution?

here is what i think happened..

it was too humid for way too long and the leaves turned into mush, when you took the humidity away they dried very very quick because it wasnt actually holding any moisture.. if that makes any sence.. idk im high..

kinda like when you water cure.. when the water cure is done and you dry the water cured bud it dries extremely fast..

sux bro, ive heard of that happening to seedlings too

i think thats why your supposed to crack the humidity dome once and a while. i personally have never used one

Or you can poke / drill a few holes in the top to control humidity

ok thanks for the quick responses guys. i think that is what happened because they were in extreme humidity for quite a while. the thing is i have a few more that look like they are definitely going to root and i dont want the same thing to happen to them. i will try poking holes in the baggies to slowly lower the humidity. i really hope this works, i cant belive i killed my first successfull clones. ive been trying for quite some time. i guess im getting closer.

well i just checked and sure enough there are a couple more rooted cuttings. now i am really scared! what should i do? i dont want to kill these ones also by removing the baggies. i poked holes in the bags for now, hopefully i could lower the humidity slow enough not to kill my new clones.

Humidity had nothing to do with it - your scenario is standard for cloning. Did you hit them with a high dose of nutes or was your PH off? Did you let the Rockwool dry out?

Humidity had everything to do with it.

I experienced the same problem...within 10 minutes of removing my dome all the leaves on all the clones began twisting and curling and just looking weird. I put the dome back on and within 10 minutes again they were all back to normal.

I would try slowly exposing them to the less humid conditions, and misting the plants with the dome off will help too.
