I have read long threads on why. And they all make sense. With so many opinions on the subject would just like to see who do and who don’t. Trim fan leaves Also add how long you been growing and if you trim in flower or veg
Thanks

I take lowers off in veg, any in bad shape or covering growth l want to promote, trim branches too. Strip bottom 2 thirds late veg as in high rh area. Pm sucks. I sculpt my plants and lst hard. No topping. If leaves all healthy and good growth occuring l will leave them alone. So both! Less in flower than veg. First seed popped 38 years ago. As Creature said you need full canopy.

Defoliation makes perfect sense if you have no clue about botany. It's 100% bro science. Ask the defoliators for some evidence that it improves your Cannabis crop in any way. Nope, all you get is "my bro defoliates and he grows fire."
Ive had adverse reactions defol at wrong time. Stunted growth by topping too late too. This season l will trim all bud sites but top 3 to concentrate growth to tips. I defol still. Genetics determine if fire.

I defoliate the hell out of my flowering plants, and have great results. I find it funny that people keep bringing up "the plant needs leaves to grow" when there is tons of proof that it works at least as well as not defoliating. The plants need fan leaves to grow the plant, not the buds. That's why defoliating in veg is pointless.

I mean you’d have even greater results if you didn’t

just sayin

By the time I get to flowering I've already removed most of the leaves and weak twigs that I intend on removing...but if during flowering I notice a large fan leaf shading a bud underneath i snip it and expose that bud to more intense light...I can't help myself...and I've seen buds that would've been airy larfy kief sifting material tighten up and become jar worthy doing so

I've left them completely alone more than one cycle, along with defoliating different amounts from light to super heavy. The harder I've gone the better results I've had. I don't have a problem with people leaving their plants alone, but claiming that it hinders them just doesn't jive with real world results.
