Should we legalize Rx drugs for all?

It seem like Doctors are just handing perscription drugs out like candy these days. While I was going through my chemotharapy and radiation I was getting so many drugs that I didn't know what to do with them all.

I was thinking what if Rx drugs became legal for anyone to buy, like from a drugstore but you don't need a perscription, just $$$.

Anyone think this may happen? Like mexico. Do you think it is a good idea to be able to treat yourself? Many people(like me) can't afford to have these expensive CAT and PET scans. Wouldn't it be easier just to take an OxyContin 2 times a day and not have to worry about your back pain? Crime would go down. Pharmacys would get robbed less. No more black market. More money for all? Whatcha think?

Bad idea.
Big pharma would make much more money and work harder to keep weed illegal, as they are a major contributor anti-marijuana propaganda campaigns (along with the alcohol industry).

i don't think it's a good idea either. so many people who actually need these prescription meds won't be able to survive having to balance paying bills as well as paying for these drugs. plus pharmacy companies won't make as much money so they would never allow it. we pay a $10 - $20 co-pay and insurance/medicaid pays for the rest. sometimes they cost upwards of $200 for a bottle. if, instead of insurance paying for it, we had to pay cash for it, then not so many people would be buying them, resulting in a HUGE decrease in profits for big pharm. i guess richer people who never got the pills would start buying it but it's hard to imagine that they would compensate for the amount of not-so-well-off people who woudln't be able to afford it anymore.
