Should I use stakes in the soil or find another way.

OK. I need to find something to suport my plants better (they haven't even started budding yet). one fell over yesterday and a few others are getting tipsy. I bought bamboo sticks yesterday (because someone on here said it won't hurt the plants to stick something down in the soil) but when I got home, I checked my rollitup and someone said that the plant will focus on repairing the roots and it will slow growth. The easy and simple thing would be to use bamboo sticks in the soil. I would have to move my whole room around to use tomato cages (to make more room). What should I do?:wall::confused:

How big are your plants?
When mine got about a 8 inches it fell over, and I just used regular sticks to hold it up,
But if you're worried about your roots, stick the bamboo in the soil far away and kind of make a tee-pee type stake.
