Should i use a 5-10 gallon pot before throwing clone into 20 gallon smartpot?

You can plant directly into the 20 gallon if you want. The 20gal smart pots is a heavy bitch when full so make sure you pick a perfect spot before filling it up with soil.

Yes, you should transplant a few times, especially if you plan to inoculate with myco fungi.

Sorry, didn't mean to add complexity to something that is complex enough when just starting! Myco fungi are synergistic fungus that grow on your roots and extend the reach and ph range for your roots. You just sprinkle them on your root balls during transplants to get them established. Not something I dabbled with until recently and found that they delivered big benefits. Check out some research on them sometime, full name is Mycorrhizal Fungi.

Lol! No worries! Thanks for the input. My boy gave me 20 clones of girl scout cookies that finished rooting a while back and are looking super healthy in 1gall containers and will be ready for transplant in about a month. I could transplant to a 5gal before the 20gal pots but i also heard transplanting them to much isnt the greatest thing for em. Whats your take on that bro?

I'm all for transplanting more often, partly because I like to use the myco fungi and it is another chance to innoculate, partly because my roots have a better chance of getting to the nutrients in the fresh soil before the nutes can get washed out of the pot. Since you have 20, maybe experiment and do some each way to compare for yourself and see what you like?
