Should I start flowering?

Hi guys! It's been 5 weeks and 4 days since my white romulans sprouted and they are about 9 or 10 in. now. Imo they've been slow growers so i'm not expecting too much stretch from them but I read from someones grow journal about this strain and he said his plants stretched up to 3 times their height (however his girls looked much less bushy and short than mine during veg and they weren't topped like mine are).
The distance between the top of my pot and the light is 35in so if the plants really will stretch up to 3 times then I'm thinking I should switch to 12/12 now, right? I'll be using scrog once they start flowering so I'm thinking that might make them stretch less.

I tied down two mains on each plant today so the secondaries can get more light but the plant's still about the same height. Would it be a good idea to switch to flowering tomorrow?
This is my first grow so any advice/opinions will be really helpful! :)

Also, I'm on an 18/6 light sched which goes from 3pm to 9am. How should I go about switching the bulb to HPS and light cycle to 12/12? Should I extend tonight to 12 hours or stay with 6 hours tonight and just start with an hps bulb tomorrow and then continue with the 12/12?

What size of finished plant do you want. I have a 61/2 foot tent. I veg to 40-42 inches and try and control the stretch. End up about 50 inches.. And yes some stretch more.

If you're max height is 35 inch then flip now or within a week or so. They stretch 2 times and sometimes even 3 times the size in flower. It can be slowed down if you are tying down but really you can flip whenever you want.

I think I'll flip today but should I extend the night time to 12 hours first or have tn be the last 6 hour one and just start the day with the HPS bulb and then continue with 12/12?
If it doesn't matter then I'd rather keep the lights starting at 3pm until harvest.

too early to flip for a scrog, you need the shoots to be 3-4" high with vertical growth off the side shoots for this too work give it about a week and its time to flower
done it a few times myself

well its up and running with the HPS now, should I shut it off for a bit and put the MH back in for a few more days? I'm not planning on on tying them down while in scrog just right now so theyre more horizontal. Does scrog make a big difference on how much the girls stretch?

Yeh I would put the mh back in
the screen will support the shoots and have no affect on the plants growth an less you trainning the shoots into the screen (while still in veg)

After pull the sides down (lst)
The plant needs time to recover
(few days) before it starts to grow again, so if you flower now the plant may not grow much
( depends on the plant ) and this could have a big impact on yeild

and if i measured correctly, the shoots are at least 3" plus im more worried about space sice I only have 35in. to work with
Its the lower side shoots you want 3" or there was no point pulling the sides down

with lst your going for loads of tops not 4 main tops

You will be fine with the space

Okay so I went back to mh until all the shoots are taller and then ill flip. Thanks for the advice! :)

They maybe a little short but you do have a full canopy there, difficult to know how much the plants will stretch in flower, I have grown a lot of plants from seed and some may grow 50% and others 200% from the same pack of seeds

I would give it another day and flower, so inner shoots of that one shorter in the back plant get taller as it will help

if they grow 50% more the shoots should be a good height and look like a scrog full of buds in a few weeks
as you have topped the plant and pulled the sides down I can't see the plant stretching more than 100% in flower but time will tell
